Greenify

Greenify always seemed like a gimmick to me. Never noticed any difference in using it or not
Agree with this as well, personally I think these kind of apps cause more issues than they solve.

But it's different for everyone I guess.

Doze would allow my V10 (with a terrible battery) last all day.. as well as my G4. But Nougat is great with standby time... The only thing I'm curious about now is Greenify's other settings. Not the hibernate actions but how it can initiate aggressive doze as soon as you turn the screen off, or Doze on the Go.. and such.

Lol I have.. work and travel.. 15 hour flights.. tough stuff
I'd have battery packs if I knew I was traveling on a 15 hour flight so what I said still applies for me.

That's easy to plan. I am saying I've never been in a situation that there is zero way for me to charge or where I need battery that bad.

Greenify and all the apps like it became unnecessary in 2013 and obsolete when Doze came into existence. Those apps typically suck MORE juice than not having them because they kill processes that have to be running for smooth operation and most apps do better in stasis than they do being restarted constantly.

Oh yeah I'm with you on that.. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it with this specific device. I do come equipped with a battery pack as well.

You can use Greenify to trigger doze even sooner. No longer needed to kill process, that does in fact use a lot of battery now.. especially with Nougat, but if you just use it to trigger doze it's pretty great.

I am using it but am seeing some issues with the AOD in that the AOD turns off. Thinking of uninstalling.

It is interesting is the apps that keep waking up are ones I have not even opened for ages the biggest culprits are Sonos, Kindle, photos and Amazon shopping!

Noticed the same.
I build a bridge. Tasker starts greenify after display off and set a timeout for the display of 1 minute.

This was working fine. I uninstalled greenify because it seems useless. It makes only sense if you really have to use an wrong coded app which is not closing in the background.

Also I noticed for rootless use no improvement for a faster doze.

Android is still bad in standby compared to iOS.
I can have thousand apps and I receive fast notifications with not battery drain.

I love my LG G6.

I used it for a while when I got this phone. Uninstalled it and have not seen any difference. Still get amazing battery life. TBH, I don't think it's needed with newer versions of android. It might even be a negative. greenify itself never goes in to deep sleep mode itself, so it's just working against the system.
If you want to restrict an app from running in the background, then use an ADB command and voila. My Instagram is dead to me until I open it. if I still used Facebook, then I'd definitely do that to it too.
