Yesterday's horrific storms have led me here, as I tried to stream our local weather coverage on my LG Optimus V, and received an error message instead. It occurred to me that I've never tried to update the OS, and after a little searching, I'm entirely confused about where to start

In addition, with all of my apps, I run into memory issues, even though I have a lot of memory on my SD card. I saw a post about LG bloatware, which may be a good place to start.

Welcome to Android Central.

Check out our Optimus V forums, LesileAnn is one of our key players over there and she might be able to help work through some of your problems your having.

Quick observation on the memory issues....
More apps you have installed to internal memory the more it eats up naturally.. If you have the option to go into Settings/Applications/Manage Apps/ start looking at some of the apps and see if you have the option to "Move to SD CARD" listed, that will move the application to the sdcard and free up valuable internal memory space.

Also another area to look at which many over look is text messages.... Some people are famous for saving hundreds and thousands of messages from a year ago or whatever.. Those eat up valuable space too... There is an app on the Market called SMS Backup & Restore where you can backup these text messages to your SDCARD and selectively restore/manage them at a later date in time if you need to look over something..

Otherwise, again.. Welcome to the forums and enjoy!
