Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and the android universe. Never much cared for anything but a regular phone to make call, thats it. But I purchase a Net10 LG L40G from Best Buy, and now I seem to have become an android junkie. Amazed at all you can do, even though my phone certainly isnt top of the line, I did manage to root it. Took me forever. Now I'm trying to find a custom rom, but its hard to find anyone that even knows about this phone. Naturally, I'm hoping to do all of this without killing the thing. Anyway, its great to be here and hope to get involved as much as I can find time to. :)

Hi there, I've tried many different rooting programs to root my Net10 LG40g as well but no luck. If you don't mind, what did you use to do it? Thanks in advance.

Hey Benjamin, here is the link to the forum post I found: Root MANY ANDROID! [Upd: 11.03.2013] - xda-developers
You may or may not have to join the forum to download the files. Read everything thoroughly and follow the instructions to the T. I bricked my phone after rooting and trying to change the bootloader without a recovery. Got a new phone, took me longer to root the second time. Had to try 4 times. You will see that you will have to manually type in a couple of lines at some point. Just remember to read carefully and hope you have success :)

Alguien sabe como hago para que mi firma tambi?n salgo en mi facebook? :(

It worked after the second try, thanks a bunch ks58! I thought I had tried everything but I guess not. I figured eventually somebody was going to stumble upon the right method! Thanks for the heads up. Custom roms however are a different story. Don't know if there will ever be any which is kinda odd because the smaller version of the L40G, the L35G which is also carried by Net10 (I have both) has a cult following I guess because it has I believe two different custom roms. I liked the smaller L35G better as it has the exact same processor but with the screen being only vga 320x240 resolution, and it being smaller, it is much snappier in speed. The screen was so bad however, I had to upgrade to the L40G which is quite "laggy" by comparison but offers somewhat better resolution. Anyway, thanks again.
