Griffin Travel stand works great

Well got my iZel in this morning. It works fantastic with my InnoII case on the phone! Depending on what cable you have to charge with you may not be able to charge it while in landscape, but this depends on what cable and what angle you have it set on.

First the front, it fit in really nicely vertically!

Here's the fit with the InnoII case. The InnoII adds about 2-3mm overall and fit securely within the "rubber" covering on the stand. With no case it would be a little loser. I would call this an almost perfect fit with this setup.

Using the GPS Status app I found the angles this thing adjusts through. I figured this may be important to the people like me who like to know all the stats of things before they buy it and this is what EVERY review left out. So using the app I found the angles, they are 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, and 80 degrees. In my opinion it's about every angle you would possibly need except maybe on an airplane with a low table if you are a taller person. At 60 degrees on my desk I have found is the perfect angle to use the phone one handed and no glare. At every angle the stand loses none of it's foot hold and remains very stable.

And of course it goes horizontal with the adjustments. And you can adjust the angle in which the phone sits.

And obviously the horizontal shots, looks great!

Hope you guys find this helpful making a decision. After getting it I know I made the right decision! The build quality/weight of the stand make it not want to tip over or feel cheaply made. The rubber is high quality and I feel there is no threat in it falling apart over time. Overall if I had to rate this stand for what it is I would give it a 9.5/10 for styling (black on grey), adjust-ability, stability, and durability. Have to take .5 point off for the price at $24.95 however they will give you free 2 day air UPS shipping through Amazon. Maybe even next day didn't try that option. Very pleased with it!

(As a side note in case anyone is wondering, that is the pmf v1.1 YASR stock android 2.1 ROM. So that is the stock Android desktop clock.)

Thanks for the review and the pics. I have one on order and I hope to get it today or tomorrow. I believe I ordered it on Friday. I have the InnoII case as well so I now know it will fit perfectly.

It *should* work with the extended battery. Depends on how picky you are with the angles. It should work out nicely though, let us know because I'm interested in that aspect because I may be ordering one soon.

Yeah I ordered mine on Thursday with 2 day air, so you should have it by tomorrow. Glad you found the review useful. I love this thing, been using my phone on my desk one handed for a while this morning checking emails, twitter etc. I like it a lot, and don't see how I got by without it!

I just received my iZel stand and the one thing I am disappointed in is that you can't have it in Landscape mode while charging. The power connector hangs down too low from the charging port, pushing the phone off the stand. Bummer. Please let me know if anyone has a solution.

Have you looked at something like this? I'm not sure if this is the exact one that would work (depending on which side is the "top" on the usb plug) but it is a start.

I'm going to order one as soon as I get a better picture of the plugs so I can make sure it goes the right way.

Nice find! Nope...that just might work.

Is it just me or is the micro usb port look different on the incredible? Looks like none of my other usb cables will fit. Is there different types of micro usbs?

Curious about whether htc is pulling an apple on us

I'm pretty sure that it just looks different because it also supports the video out cable to connect it to your tv. MicroUSB is a standard.

So I should be able to still plug a different looking usb into it? I could see how that could work

Nope...it's a standard micro usb port.

Yes, the only concern I had with that plug was that it was turning in the right direction. I mean if you're looking at the top of the phone and looking at the usb cable plugged in, for it to work in that stand you'd want it to turn 90 degrees to the left. That way the cable runs under the phone and not off in the other direction.

For me I'd like to have 2 cables. 1 for each direction. I'd like to have one so I can use it in my car charger without putting too much stress on the cable when it's plugged in. The other one (like I described for that dock) I'd like to have so I can make an awesome lego dock with the cable integrated but to also charge my bluetooth.

Hope this helps,

So I have a stock ps3 usb cable. There is a standard sized usb end and then a smaller end that I would assume is micro usb. It didn't fit in the phone port. I think even my other usb cables have the same ends. What's up with this?

There are different types of USB plugs. There is the one for your computer, like your keyboard and mouse. There is the one that plugs into your printer. Then there are smaller ones also. Micro is the one we use, and what's becoming a standard on cellphones (except for Apple). Mini is what we used to use, and what I think you're referring to. My BB Pearl had this mini usb plug. Smaller than the computer one, but bigger than the one we use.

This is a Mini-Micro adapter to help give you an idea.

The PS3 is NOT a micro usb cable. It is a mini usb. I bought a micro for my Dinc for a few bucks from Amazon. The page shows that's it's sold by BTO, but look to the right under "More buying choices" and you can order if from Amazon.

Ok the cables I have use the female end of that adapter. So that is the size and shape of the end. Is the mini-macro the male or female side of that adapter?

Not that I've ever seen. I'm looking at getting the 6' version from here. Like $17.

USB Cables - A to Micro B

And get the one that goes straight back that way you don't have a cable going to the left or right in horizontal.

I just did some very difficult math. A little trig, some pythagorean theorems, quantum mechanics, and some insanely difficult addition and subtraction. Looks like you're going to need the right angle cable there.

Thanks for the link.
