Group messaging draining battery

when I get a group message, it severely drains my battery and my phone gets extremely hot. This happened with my previous phone as well (Nexus 4). this does seem to happen only when the other members of the group are iPhone users. Any way to remedy this?

It sounds like you may be in a weak signal area. Group texts use MMS which use mobile data to send -- If the phone is struggling to send the message it could cause more drain.

i thought about that, but this doesn't happen to the other participants in the group message. Like I said, could this be because they use iPhones?
