Gs3 and sprint airave

Airave does not support LTE network mode. you need to select CDMA network mode.
Settings > More settings > Mobile Networks > Network mode > CDMA.
then do an update profile.

I would think it would just use the CDMA standard since that's what it supports. When you have LTE on its CDMA / LTE not just LTE.

The Airave was junk, in my opinion. I hated that it had to hook into an internet connection, which in itself caused a lot of outages. I had months of weird issues pop up like long delays during a call - as in I would say something and the other person wouldn't hear it until a couple seconds later...made for many awkward and frustrating conversations - or echoing where I would hear myself echo back at me right after I started talking. I was so happy to discover we no longer needed it when we moved a few months ago. If Sprint hadn't noticed I was not using it and asked for it back, I would have taken a hammer to the thing.

Sprint told me it is the S3 itself. Since the 3 other lines connect and the various old phones that are used when we misplaced or break our phones all work great, I have to side with Sprint on this one. I am going on my 3rd S3 (see my post about dropping the phone again) the first two did the same thing. I have not received the 3rd one yet. But I could be standing next to the airave and the S3 not connect to it. But if turned off the radios (airplane mode) then back on, it would connect to the airave. What I hate about it is when I leave the range of the airave, more times or not, the call drops instead of it jumping to the cell tower.

I have 2 g3s phones, one iphone 4 and a Samsung epic and have no issues with the airwave so far.

nylox2004, this worked great! We got my wife a new Galaxy Nexus and had the same problem...I activated it on the Airave and she was unable to send texts. Since we had activated it on the Airave, I modified your procedure a bit:..I updated the Profile then the PRL after unplugging the Airave, then followed the rest of it and now she can text!! Thanks very much!!

Iphone 4 and SG3 and both connect fine. Was at zero signal and now full rack. It does go to nothing every so often tho. I never know why. It almost always comes back to full bars if I do something like text or make a call. For me Arave is the only way to have a signal in my house.

I too have an Airave. Started having issues with the unit. Sometimes it would connect and other times not. I was using the 2.0 version. Called Sprint and they sent the new 2.5 version. I've had no issue sense.

I have one with the S3 as well. Most of the time it does not connect to it without resetting the phone. I have had 3 S3's the now. See my post about dropping the phone over and over to see why. All 3 do the same thing. I called Sprint and they put me in touch with 1 of their Airave specialist who told me it was a known issue with the Airave and certain phones. The S3 being one of them and was not likely to ever get fixed as it is an issue with the Airave itself and the company that makes it is not likely to correct it. I have not pursued the issue pass this as my connection has improved. I think the colder weather helps. Network Vision was done in my area early (but no 4g LTE) last year but did not improve the connection at that time. I have 4 lines on my account and only the S3 has the issue.

i was having a similar problem with my brand new galaxy s4. i called sprint customer service and the helpful woman had me type in ##77xxx# (the x's were actually numbers but i dont think you should be doing it without talking with sprint first) she said that it was because my phone was brand new it needed some extra attention to get on the airave properly. now it works just fine. thanks mystery lady from sprint who was very sweet, you made my night!
