I just downloaded Gokeyboard and we'll see how it works. I hope I don't get ads in notification area like the poster below has stated. I couldn't stand that. Well so far so good. Muchbetter than stock

I've had it less than 24hrs and I've been loving it so far. The voice option is great as well.

Swype beta to me is almost flawless.

When I was in the original Swype beta I fell in love with it on my EVO. When it became stock on the phone it became terrible. Still usable, but just seemed like the quality went WAY down.

Now that I have the beta on my GS3 it's back to being as great as it was before.

Completely agree with the stock input being crap. Get Swype or Swiftkey and the problem is solved.

Took the words right out of my mouth! I liked the old Swype but it became terrible on my EVO. Installed the new Swype on my S3 and it is amazing!

The Samsung default keyboard is absolutely garbage. The only thing I liked about it was the dedicated .com button but that's nothing innovative.

been using it for over a year on my phone and just bought it for my wife on her phone and she thought the difference between it and her stock htc keyboard was night and day.

It wouldn't let me type in my email address to log into my amazon account. Five F#ckin times I tried before I screamed. It kept insisting on auto correcting it and I finally gave up. I'll do it tomorrow or later after I install Swiftkey

I'm new to Android and new to virtual keyboards. Coming from WebOS with physical keyboards, I was so worried about trying to get used to a virtual keyboard. With all this talk about Swiftkey, I gave it a try. Wow! I didn't realize a virtual keyboard could work so well! It truly is all that, and more.

installing swift key as we speak cause this stock keyboard sucks so hard. the GN was better lol and so was they typing. the gn prob had the easiest keyboard for the way i type.

One thing bugs me about typing on this phone. I can't long-press a text field and get the "Select Input" option. On my last phone, this feature allowed me to change keyboards on the fly (like when Swype flakes out in Streamzoo, I could just long-press a text field, tap "Select Input" option and pick another keyboard). With the SGS III on any keyboard, long-pressing a text field only gives me the option to paste.

Is this a setting somewhere that I'm missing, or has this functionality changed?

SlideIT (Swype-like) has that feature and I miss it. Swype has improved tremendously, but I wish it had the option to flick to manual typing like SlideIT has.

Not as easy but when you're in the text field you can pull down the notification bar and change it
