GS3 Release Date in US by AT&T

With the delay of Verizon Galaxy S 3, we have to receive the gadget from AT&T first. AT&T is the second largest provider of 4G LTE service in the U.S right now. Though not comparable to Verizon, AT&T has better presence in many important parts and cities of the country. AT&T has also been a successful carrier for Samsung with a huge variety of devices including the last year’s Galaxy S 2.

Regarding release date, the AT&T version of S 3 will only come in the third week of the month. “AT&T will not ship its Samsung Galaxy S 3 on the 18th of this month. Instead, citing a leaked retailer document, the wireless carrier will start shipping the new Samsung phone to stores and third-party retailers by the 21st of this month,” says Pop Herald.

Those guys don't know squat. They say that AT&T will not ship on the 18th BUT will ship "by the 21st". Many people have heard from various sources that AT&T will ship on the 18th and people will receive by the 21st.

Ok, did find the quoted portion in a different story. Lists it as a rumor. Refers to rumors earlier in the week of shipping June 21st. Only stories I have seen ALL week suggesting this, were referring to preorders being told they would ship June 21st.

I believe this is what he mentions, but most likely due to heavy volume of preorders. Of course it may take a little longer to ship preorders made later.
Just saying take this info with a grain of salt.

I am not saying it is a credible source just one that was posted very recently. The only date that counts is the official one from AT&T of which there has been nothing definite. The company has only referenced date ranges.

This story posted an hour earlier than the previous one that I posted.

Just so there is no confusion from those that can't be bothered with reading.

With AT&T however, there’s a whole different story and it appears that the carrier is continuing to do things rather awkwardly and different from the rest. First they mentioned that, unlike the other four US carriers, they’ll only offer the 16 GB variant but that they’ll also sell an exclusive red S3 by the end of the summer.

Then, there was mentioned in AT&T’s pre-order form that shipping of the device will start on June 18. Now however, it appears that when regular clients place a Galaxy S3 pre-order via AT&T’s website they are told the handset will arrive “on or around” June 21. AT&T Premier customers on the other hand, are told that the SGS3 will ship on June 21.

To summarize things up, except for Sprint and T-Mobile no other US carrier has been able to share information regarding an exact release date of Samsung’s flagship phone so far, and although AT&T is the only carrier with an uncertain launch day to hint towards a June rather than July release, things are still not set in stone yet and thus are subject to change.

This might disappoint some of you who were planning on grabbing the Galaxy S3 from AT&T, but after all a June 21 launch is not bad at all considering our expectations from Verizon and US Cellular.

You lost me there buddy. You are right though about a lack of an official date. I can only go by what I was told directly by ATT. Expected to ship on June 18th with delivery on or before June 21st. Guess all of doesn't matter in the long run. I'll get it when I get it!

It could be possible that circumstances have changed since you talked with AT&T. I totally believe that your experience is probably more reliable. Given what happened in Canada with their date moving, these news stories may have a glimmer of truth and then maybe not. Two unrelated sites reporting similar stories in conjunction with Canada kinda makes you wonder. I agree that we will get our phones when we get them. I just thought it also might help with the lack of patience and the growing excitement those who pre-ordered are experiencing.

I also think the thing in Canada shows that any expected delays would be announced and addressed. Even though ATT has not made an official launch date, Sprint and T mobile have. Surely they would have said by now if they thought a delay was in order.

It would appear that those of who pre-ordered in the store and online received two different confirmation emails.

It helps pass the time as there are no official statements for such a simple thing as a release date.

Only thing I have that I would call reliable is my pre-order receipt, which clearly states my phone will arrve on or before 21 June. So far, there has been nothing that would nullify this. I hate rumors. Just send me my phone Samsung!

Getting my Skyrocket back from warranty repairs on Tuesday. 1 week turn around time is not bad for free repairs, if you ask me. Going back to this 3GS is not making the wait any better. Planoman is right, we'll know soon- one day and a wake up!

Btw, repair shop is in Plano, tx.
