I've downloaded the update three times now, over the last day, and it says "update failed" around the 30% mark whenever it tries to install. I used to run CWM and CM but now I'm on stock recovery, unrooted TW, and I just did a factory reset in the hope that it would solve the problem. Anybody have advice? Is there an update.zip I can grab from XDA or something?

I am seeing complaints about battery life in regards to this update. I would hold off on trying to update until it is confirmed the bugs are worked out.

I had that problem after trying to return to stock. Did you uninstall any bloatware while you were rooted? I was told that may have been my problem.

I ended up rooting, using triangle away, unrooting, wipe data, factory reset and then flashing a stock rom. (4.0.4)
Kies updated it to 4.1.1 then the update was pushed to my phone in the middle of the night. GS3 on AT&T.

Yes, one of the developers on XDA saved the update file and posted it. I used it to update my phone, and it's been running great for me. Here's the link to his post:

1. Click the download link and download the file (if it's slow, use one of the mirrors).

2. Rename the file to update.zip and move it to the phone (if you have an sd card, use that).

3. Boot into recovery and flash the zip file.

4. Enjoy!

A couple things to keep in mind:
- This is 100% stock: no root, has Knox, you cannot go back once you update.
- This DOES WIPE your phone. It's like getting a factory reset on top of the update. Back up any files you want to keep beforehand.

Hope that helps.
