GS4 - Group Chatting with iPhones

[AC Question]

I've browsed multiple threads on this, but none have helped. I want to use the default messaging app (since it got such a great upgrade in the newest OS upgrade) to join Group Conversations with my friends who all have iPhones. Saying group chat, I mean a thread that all of us are in and can send messages to each other within that thread. I've turning on "MMS for group chat", to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

This doesn't seem to be like the answer you want, but I don't think the option exists with the default messaging app. I think you will need to use a third party app that can has cross platform group chatting abilities. I'd recommend Rounds which allows chatting with up to 12 people
