GS5 fell in water and now stuck at startup

[AC Question]

after my phone fell on water and after waiting for it to dry now I try to turn it on,it's stuck on the startup (the samsung logo),I took it to like 2 random repair shops(not professional), and according to them,the phone needs a new "brain",I dunno what's the brain in phones like is it the chip or the motherboard(anyway costs around 300$ if I'm not mistaken),so if anybody had this before what did you do to get it eventually working?,or does anybody knows what things that I can do?
and I forgot to state that they told me that they tried downloading OS but it didn't work...

The water has likely caused a short circuit so I'm inclined to believe what your repair shops say

Bring your phone to a more well-known proffesional repair shops. Sometimes some repair shops just want to you to buy their screens, "brain",etc. So they can make more profit.

Isnt the s5 water ressistant? An accidental drop on water shouldn't damage it unless you forgot to seal the cover firmly.
