I am looking at a 3G Galaxy Tab (from Verizon). I like the size. My wife's xoom is clumsey to hold.

Anyway, one of the things I want to do is run logmein (remote control) software -- which will then let me connect through the web to my desktop and operate it by remote control. This will let me keep all emails in one location, presumably lets me run netflix "on" the tab (though really it is running on the desktop), and will let me access my customer files while I am meeting with them miles away from the office. Et cetera.

I am wondering if anyone here has experience with this process on the 7" galaxy screen and how awkward the translation between 23" screen and 7" screen becomes. I've used logmein from computer-to-computer with similarly sized screens many times. Just curious how it handles the disparity.

(note...I am asking for experienced comment, not opinion without commensurate experience<G>)

I use LogMeIn all the time. I have gotten rid of my laptop, and carry my Tab to work with my desktop PC. I really like it a lot. It takes a little to get used to. It is not perfect, but I think it is very practical.

You do have to take an extra step to bring up the keyboard, and sometimes I have to zoom in to see some stuff on a smaller screen, but otherwise I think it works really well, and I have been very pleased.

I use it for email, and especially inventory, so I can check stock when I am out of my office. You can see the whole screen if you want, but it is obivously pretty small, so I zoom in when I need to see things.

Let me know if you want to know anything else. I can't say whether or not it will work for you, but I have been very satisfied.

Logmein is great - but I refuse to pay for it ...

For free may I recommend PocketCloud and its companion for windows..

Works great on the GT i just got and I use a 26" monitor - Windows 7 does a good job with P.C.
The free version gives you 1 PC - paid multiple.
Anyway good luck

You can always setup RDP sessions as well for free

pocketcloud seems to have killed the e-net wired connection/port on my vista box. plus still toomany beta-type issues with it.

will try logmein.
