Are people having issues with Bugless Beast...? is that why you are going back to JB..?

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Hey Dmmarck... I was hoping you'd reply... I kinda followed your lead and experience with the Jelly Belly and Trinity upgraded, which by the way was my first ROM. I see that you updated to BB and TNP and really wanted to hear what you had to say.

Also, I went and downloaded BB (7/13) about 10 mins ago from the main page, however I do NOT see the GAPPS... am I missing something a process here...? agian, I'm on JB 1.8 and Trinity..

Maybe a link that I'm not seeing... Thoughts...?

Re: [GUIDE][7/12] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Loving Jelly Belly 3.4 so far. Can't tell what effects it has had on battery, likely because I wasn't plugged in when doing all the installs and updates haha, but it doesn't seem AS good as what I had running LS1.4 with franco196 ICS.

That being said, I'm going to give Google Now a true "whirl" with GPS always on (never done it before) to see what it can learn from me.

I was going to bed at night with 25% battery lefty anyways, so hopefully this will just get me closer to 5-10% at the end of the day.

So far it is indeed faster. The word butter doesn't come to mind, but I really like the app multi-task transitions - very smooth and aesthetically pleasing. There are a few hiccups here and there if I'm really trying to push the limits in terms of switching screens, apps, and trying to type immediately after switching, but I guess that's to be expected with the hardware/software combo.

Excited for future builds and, naturally, more custom ROMs ala AOKP with my beloved toggles and screen brightness in the status bar.

NOTE: on the power widget bar, the brightness option is funked - it only goes between mostly bright and highest bright settings, and never down to lowest brightness. I have to go into options to "reset" it to choose something 50% or lower.

Any one else seeing not so great battery life on 3.4 I finally have flashing down don't really know or feel comfortable changing kernels , any ideas

Edit: I am not saying I won't change the kernels or setting just don't really know enough about it and am worried about borking my phone

Bb has the gaaps built in so you don't need to download them.

I think if I remember correctly Jake in the rw Page said if going from a 2.x to a 3.x that you should do a full wipe. If you aren't having issues consider yourself lucky, but if you are then a full wipe and re flash will probably do the trick.

Hey dmmarck, question for ya. What do you recommend, Jelly Bean wise. I'm on Vicious v2, I believe, running the Franco Kernel. I haven't done as much flashing with the phone as I'd like, compared to his brethren before him. I read through your sticky, and originally flashed it because I saw on your fb. But with so many more being out now, and more stable, I'd like to assume, I'm kinda lost I suppose. First post btw. Whats up VZW Nexus folks? :p

lol welcome!

Right now, I recommend two roms: Bugless Beast and Jelly Belly. Both are smooth, fast, and most importantly, stable. The rom you have is built from a nandroid backup, it's a port, while these two (and the current iteration of Vicious) is built from source, which is simply better, more stable, and more "legit" (so to speak).

I've been running the trinity kernel with both but right now I'm testing out franco's latest, 220, and I have to same I'm impressed.

Much appreciated good sir. I'll get back to you shortly, and let you know how everything went. If I don't come back, my phone is on fire, and I'm running in circles.

Lol I hope that doesn't happen!

384 is safer. My phone hasn't played nice with anything past that on Jelly Bean (yet).
