Mine wasn't charging and I tried 3 coils. Then I read someone's post here that said he had to plug the cable into the phone first and then into the touchstone. That worked for me with the Nexus charger and cable.

So, that's what I've done. It proves that the hardware is configured correctly. It charges from the touchstone but will not start charging from the touchstone. It makes it pretty useless. I'd love for someone to confirm whether it's a hardware or software problem.

By any chance are all the users experiencing the same issue on a sprint device?

IF you are running a kernnel with the option to fast change turn it off.

Doesn't seem to make a difference. I also put power directly on the contacts from a lab power supply. It would pull as much as 380ma but never said it was charging. If I plugged it into a USB charger then powered the pogo terminals and disconnected the USB cable, it would continue to charge. I actually charged my phone from the touchstone last night. Plugged in the phone, placed on touchstone, the unplugged the phone. It definitely charged it.

I've tried the kernal different chargers and different coils still no luck

I tried powering the pogo pin circuit from a lab power supply and it behaved the same. It's almost like it's some kind of weird firmware bug. I really don't want to have to swap it for another phone. Is that the only option I really have at this point?

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

I have been charging on the Touchstone for a while now but at the USB rate.

I finally got the phone rooted and the Franco.Kernel Updater working.

Now it won't charge on the Touchstone, whether I enable fast USB charge or not.

Any ideas what to do about this?

It does charge at the AC rate if I directly plug a USB cable in.

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

I am very unhappy that my Touchstone stopped working after I installed the franco.Kernel Updater.:(

I would really, really like to hear from someone with the Touchstone working with the franco.Kernel updater, especially with AC rate charging.

Please tell me what kernel you are using. Maybe that makes a difference.

Please!

Thanks.

Was this after installing the updater app or the actual kernel?

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

After installing the actual kernel that has the fast USB charge option. The Touchstone does not charge now whether the option is selected or not.

Does it work after going back to a stock kernel? I'm planning to try that later tonight. I had franco installed before I did the mod.

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

I haven't tried that.

I have hoping I can get it to work with the franco or other kernel enabling fast USB charge.

I especially want fast USB charge to use Touchstone in the car with Navigation.

I don't care too much about fast charge on the desktop.

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

Before trying a different kernel. I plugged into the computer. I don't think it's charging unless the data pins are shorted. It's not charging off the computer either. I should have a different kernel in a few minutes and will update the post with the results.

EDIT: Just installed LeanKernel and get the same results. I'll have to see if I can find the stock one.

I think franco.kernel updater has an option to go back to the stock kernel.

Isn't there anyone here who is getting AC rate charging with the Touchstone?

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

I am getting AC rate only on palm pre chargers with fast charge built into black ice rom. But on other chargers only charges at USB rate with fast charge off. It will not charge with it on.

Anyone else having audio issues on phone calls? I have to use ear buds to hear. I thought maybe I messed something up doing this mod. My first phone was having data drop issues after I did this mod and now my replace is having audio issues after mod. I'm thinking its a coincidence.

Re: [GUIDE] Galaxy Nexus MOD/Palm Touchstone-No soldering on phon

Could anyone please point me to the right extended battery cover/battery to do this mod with for the GSM version of the galaxy nexus from google play store?

All the ones I've seen so far are for the verizon galaxy nexus
