Finally rooted my Evo! First time rooting my phone after having it for over a year

I followed a video tutorial which was a bit nerve-wracking as some of the menus and stuff were a little different and I wasn't quite sure what to do, but I managed to figure it out. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner, especially when I still had froyo. Looking forward to messing around with this bad boy now!

Did you click flash clockworkmod recovery? Even though you already have it you need to click it. It lets the app know you have that recovery.

Smoke had EVO rooted through revolutionary then shattered screen now I got replacement with hboot 15.003 got beta key keeps saying invalid code tried all combinations of o's and zeros only one in key help so pissed dang crappy screen

Smoke had EVO rooted through revolutionary then shattered screen now I got replacement with hboot 15.003 got beta key keeps saying invalid code tried all combinations of o's and zeros only one in key help so pissed dang crappy screen

Well with this kind of rooting process it's hard to give a solution. The only thing I can give is suggestions. Try multiple times as some had luck after the tenth time and others had luck after getting a new key. That is my best suggestions as you already tried the Os & zeros.

Try uninstalling it and downloading it again.

I used the revolutionary tool It accepted my beta key then i got this

is there some thing wrong with my SDcard that needs to be addressed before clockwork will take on my phone?

I can't even get my command prompt to find the path. I'm typing cd \rootevo4ggingerbread and it can not find the specified path!! Anyone have a quick pointer to help me get started.... please..

noobie here, followed the instructions but had trouble placing the beta key properly. Persistance has paid off and now 1 1/2 hours later, Rooted. Can't wait to get Full HDMI back

Have a problem Downloaded HTC drivers, have beta key, downloaded revolutionary, and superuser zip file(not extracted) and when I open up rev.exe in cmd window I get waiting for device...and i have it in charge mode with usb debugging on. Am i missing something never rooted before but i did follow all instructions to the fullest...someone help or have any suggestions...

You downloaded the drivers for Linux instead of for Windows...The instructions are VAGUE at best. Delete it all from your puter, and do it again since you'll have a different code, brother.
