[Guide] How To Root Samsung Transform Ultra

I followed as well & nothing. Could it be my usb cord? my phone is Samsung transform ultra but cord is for blackberry. My guess the cord has nothing to do with it
Two ways to check if rooted. #1 do you have the super user app? #2 go into recovery mode ( power off... then press and hold volume down and power button) tell me how many options do you have.
Not trying to sound mean or anything but if you followed to the "t" then you are rooted.

This method has been tested by hundreds of members. This method is tried and true. Like I stated in post #1, 99.9% of issues , are because a part or whole of instructions where NOT followed.

No your cord is fine. My guess is you don't see the superuser app? I have seen a couple of instances where thus has happened. Please let me know.

when I browse for the select OPS file in Odin, I don't see the .ops file on my desktop where I downloaded it to. It's in the dropdown (showing the file pathway) but it's not visible to in the window to possibly click on. When I highlight it in the dropdown, it will appear, it seems to appear in the "OPS window" in Odin, but upon hitting start (after doing the selet integrate bit), an error pops up, it says ...Ultra.ops was not found.
Well, I downloaded it again to dropbox and moved it from there to my desktop. It seemed to work. Now if I can just figure out if I'm root.

What is the file extension on the downloaded file? It does need to say .ops for Odin to see it properly.

Lol... you need to look in the apps and see if you have superuser.. it has been my experience, some users did not receive that during flashing. Plus if you followed the instruction, go back to recovery. There you will have more options (10 total) if you are rooted.

I don't have that app. But in the recovery mode I have 10 options including 'go back.' I think I have an app that only a rooted phone can use, but I'm not sure. I am a noob. (That's really really weird to say.) Now to explore what I can do with a rooted phone. Thanks for your help and your quick responses!

We were all noobs at one point.

Ok, you don't have the superuser app then you need to flash this -----> Superuser Put this onto the root of your sdcard - Then reboot into recovery - Goto install from sdcard --- find the superuser.zip and flash. Now you are completely rooted...

Thanks for making this so brainless! It was easy as hell and I accomplished success on my first try. Tethering my wifi-only iPad now! THANK YOU NITE!

Yes I can root your phone. One issue though, honestly in order for me to root your phone, you would have to pay shipping both ways (if that is what you are talking about). Plus you would not know the processes involved, how to get into cwm or anything to the such.

It would benefit you greatly, if you did it yourself. The instructions I provided, are step by step with instructions on what and when you would see certain steps.

I wrote the instructions as if I was doing them. It is really simple and takes less than 5 mins to do after you have read the OP at least 3 times. I suggest 3 so you can memorize some steps.

Believe me when I say it is simple to do. If you help with anything plus do not hesitate to ask. The only way to learn is to ask the so called "stupid questions".

i got the superuser file on my sd card in my phone but i don't understand how to reboot into recovery...does that mean just turn my phone off then back on again?

I have tried this numerous times, but no matter what it doesn't root my phone. I definitely followed the instructions and did everything it said to.but my root explorer refuses to acknowledge my root (if it even worked) Android version is 2.3.6 and I could really use your help here.

If you take a look at the op it does state how to get into recovery.

In case you missed it ----> to get into recovery device must be off. Press the volume down button. At the same time press the power button. Once the Samsung logo appears on device let go of the power button. The menu that shows up is recovery.
