[GUIDE] How To Root/Unroot The Thunderbolt with Revolutionary

Yeah that's the one thing you need a comp for

Wait whoa yeah you should ask them

The one thing I just noticed is that the developer doesn't have any way to ask a question about this method... I may be out of luck..

Have anyone send a device in for warranty with the Revolution Bootloader still installed and did you have any issues from Verizon? I usually can restore system but this time I cant do the bootloader..

Ya this tutorial is super flawed.

Leaves you guessing steps and needing to do extra things that aren't shown.

Tried several times and always get stuck on fast boot where it reboots my phone and shows locked and fastboot and other settings but nothing else.

Tried more stuff and it gets stuck on zerging root and stays there and then says failed to get root.

All drivers are installed, super user is there and also have done the temp root.

I have NEVER rooted anything before. I thought I'd give this a try and even as simplified as you have made it, something went wrong. I would like to thank you for posting this. I guess I'm just not capable of making it happen.

To4raiden and Pumaproc You dont have to use this, I have a tool here that should work for you

No prob. If I had to guess, judging from the GB release, something like September / October :(

Wow That Long...?...I Was Hoping Maybe A Little Earlier...Well Thanks For The Info...And Heres Hoping Verizon Gets Off There As$E$...

Rooted my phone last Friday. I've been scared to do it for the longest but the instructions were easy. Big thank you. No more driving to hotspots to work on my tablet. Wireless tether is now my best friend. LOL

Is the link in the OP for "PG05IMG_no_hboot_2.11.605.9.zip" dead? I tried it and it didn't work.

All links in the OP should be working now... if not, please let me know. Thanks.

i could not get that file ('http://www.bergfiles.com/i/bf48869cf1h22i0']PG05IMG_no_hboot_2.11.605.9.zip) to download. i clicked on the link, but there was no option to download, except for a lousy download manager, which i installed, but did nothing. maybe i am doing something wrong? can someone else see if thy can at least start downloading the file?

You could just use my unroot program, it puts you at mr1 though

i am fine with mr1. i just want to put it to stock before sending it back to verizon. i rooted the og method, back in may or so, before revolutionary, so i didn't want to use your method. far as i can tell, i would just need to flash these two files (no hboot first), and i am good to go, correct?
