*************************CHANGELOG***************************

***************************NOTES*****************************
There's an issue with windows xp not installing the fastboot drivers correctly. I have already added the ability to install the fastboot drivers via the batch but need a beta tester

The stand alone install a recovery function is good for those that wanna backup of a prerooted rom

Ooohh!!
Is there an option to shell root, pull stock recovery and then flash custom recovery without permanent root to do the full backup? If you flash the custom recovery then you need to have the stock before everything is truly back to normal.

All that has already been taken care of. I had the stock recovery previously from when I rooted then I asked destundead when he got his phone to use fastboot to push the recovery and get a backup so we now have everything.

updated first post with new version adds revert to stock function, and install fastboot drivers for windows xp. Also new video for you that just like to watch ;)

installing the drivers does not work for me, it just brings me to lg.com, i have windows xp, help?!

Okay so Im new at rooting and I have a couple questions for you guys...

1) If I use this method to root, is it easy to un-root and revert to stock, with no custom rom, Just rooted? And how do I make a backup for this?

2) If I do use a custom rom, how hard to revert to complete stock and un-root so I can take it in to the store?

Thanks in advance guys!

this bricked my phone and i had to get a new one, i followed all the instructions to a T. it wiped everything rebooted and wouldn't load past the lg splash screen.... beat.... im just saying becarefulll.

not possible

this is the EASIEST way to do a lot of things .. this especially helped me get from CWM 3.x.x.x to thunderC recovery because I really wanted to convert to 2.2 again and nothing allowed me but this. Thank you SOOOO much for this wonderful tool.

sounds to me like someone got impatient and battery pulled in the middle of it, or you phone did not have enough juice on the battery. Because those are the only other ways I can see that you fudged this up. I have rooted and flashed two separate V's like this and not once did I have a problem.

is it possible to restore my phone from the recovery screen. i failed at flashing and now it gets stuck at the ANDROID screen.

getting stuck at the android screen means you did not fully wipe all the Caches and stuff.

What recovery are you using?

if you are using clockwork mod, you can still save your phone. its not bricked at all. not by a long shot.

just remove your sd card, connect it to your pc with the adapter that came with the phone. put the rom you want and the gapps on the card put it back in the phone and try again

when your in recovery, first make it wipe everything, then go to advanced and wipe dalvik, then in the main menu, for good measure, wipe everything again.

THEN you can flash the rom, and the gapps if you need that. (like for AOSPCM7 )

after this, you can reboot your phone and it should load fine.

however, if you failed to make a backup of your old rom, then no the recovery will not help you get that back, becuase it has nothing to restore from. you didnt make a copy.

however, you CAN still flash a rom the correct way. try not to mess it up this time :)
