Handcent SMS - MY Contact Pic Doesn't Appear - But Those I Text Do. Anyone? Bueller?

I'm stumped here and hope someone can help.

I just switched from an HTC to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Handcent worked great on my HTC. I've used Handcent on several phones with nary a problem. Now, however, when I text somebody, they're contact picture shows up fine on the Conversation (balloon) list, but mine does not. Instead, it appears as a grayed out head - the standard stock contact icon. I have a profile set up for myself in my Contacts List, and I've checked and double-checked all my settings in Handcent. I just can't seem to get MY photo to appear in the Conversation List.

I'm sure this is some very simple setting that I'm looking over, but I'll be damned if I can find it. Has anybody else had this problem before, and how did you fix it? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It has been that way on every phone I have owned with my avatar not showing on my phone. The receiver can see it though.

Anyway, I don't know why handcent doesn't take the photo from your contact, but you can add one manually. (BTW, your contact picture shows up on messages you send, just not in your conversation.) Anyway, in a conversation thread, long press where your picture should be. Then tap the picture box with the + sign, and choose a photo from your gallery to use. The image that gets sent to others will still be your contact photo. The one you select here will only be visible to you (I believe). So you can pick a completely goofy one if that will make you happy.

Problem solved! I forgot that I had created an account with Handcent and uploaded my profile pic there. For those interested, just do the following:

• Whatever phone you have, just open Handcent and make sure you're on the Convervations page - the one that lists all of the text conversations you've been a part of. This is usually the first page that opens when you open the app.
• Click the Settings icon and you're taken to the screen that has all of your list of different settings.
• Click on Handcent Services - the first one listed on that page. If you haven't created a profile, go ahead and create one. It's free and your info is kept privarte.
• Once you've created your profile, log in (if necessary) and scroll down to My Handcent.
• Click the My Gallery icon. This screen will most likely be blank since you haven't added any pics.
• Click the Upload button and search your phone for the pic you want to use as your profile pic on your outgoing texts.
• Once you find the pic you want, just add it to your Handcent Gallery...and Viola! That pic will be linked to all of your outgoing texts. If if doesn't work right away, you may have to submit it to Handcent (click on the photo and choose that option from the menu that comes up) for approval.

That should be all you need to do. At least that worked for me. Good Luck all!
