Handwriting to Text

Any favorite apps that convert a handwritten note to text. I thought S Note had that function, but can't make it happen.

The Note 8 has that setting in the settings its Samsung keyboard and then scroll down to the bottom and select S-pen Detection.

If you hover the pen over an input location, there will be a blue dot with a T. Sometimes it can be hard to get it to appear. (or maybe I've never learned the trick for it) Anyway, tap that. It will allow you to input text with the pen then, when done, it translates it to type. I've used it in Keep a lot and in text messages (NextSMS/Handcent)

If you handwrite something in Samsung Notes and then use the selection tool, you can then select extract text from the menu to convert the ink to text.

There are two ways to convert handwriting to text in Samsung Notes. The first is when using the stock Samsung keyboard, select the write to text option.



The other is as mentioned before, extract to text using the selection tool like this. Just select the tool and draw around the text that you want to extract, then choose extract text from the pop up menu. You can then paste the extracted text into your note.
