hanging up or going straight to voicemail

I have full 4G signal where I am at, so I don't think it's the possible signal problem that is happening to some users. However, people are claiming that a lot of my calls are going straight to voicemail. Also, a good amount of times, when I call people, my phone lets it ring like twice and then just hangs up. It is not my cheek hitting the end button either because I tested that out by not pressing the phone against my face. Is anyone else having similar issues? If so, any fixes? I never had these types of issues with any other previous phone with Verizon.

I am having the same problem with the majority of my calls going straight to voicemail. I'm trying to test to figure out under what conditions it does and does not occur, but I haven't been able to discern any pattern. Unfortunately, based on what people are telling me, it's happening more often than not. That's a real problem.

There's been a lot of talk about weak data signals and dropped calls with the GNex, but I haven't heard much about this particular issue.

Yea neither have I. I'm not sure if its the device, software, or issue with my particular line. I just want it fixed, but if its the device the trial period is obviously still valid to get it swapped out. I'm just not sure what to do.

If you can reproduce the problem, I'd definitely take it into Verizon to be swapped out.

My Galaxy Nexus shows *no* bars of 3g or 4g when I'm at home and I can still make and take calls no problem. For the most part anyway.

Found a solution on the xdadevelopers forum that seems, at least so far, to have solved the issue for me. The solution: Turn off your old phone. I don't know why this works (according to the person who posted it, Verizon told them that the old phone still communicates with Verizon and interferes with the new phone receiving calls), but it appears to have worked for me. Hope it works for you as well.

My old phone was on! Just turned it off. I hope that really was the issue. I'm hoping that was it and it solves it! I don't want to have to transfer all my apps and everything all over again !:-\

Similar issue here. At night, after a certain time (even with the phone plugged in and charging), calls go straight to voice mail. Pretty unhappy with this, and it may be the last straw with this buggy phone.
