Happy Ship Day everyone!! :)

Woke up to some awesome news!! Ordered blue 6/18 at 9 pm? I am premiere but.I ordered hru the att customer 1866? Number that came on my phone in the contacts. My phone shipped yesterday and I will receive it today. :D

For those of you who are upset that your phone hasn't shipped yet and you placed your order before others who have received shipping notices...just relax. (I know, easier said than done.) : )

First of all...the order that FedEx labels are generated have no difference on delivery. It doesn't matter who ordered first or second or fiftieth....these things are getting loaded on trucks by the thousands. So while I understand you may want to take "first come first served" literally....it doesn't really work that way. They aren't going I courier them to your doorstep one at a time in the order you placed your order.

What I think "first come first served" means is this:

Assume they have x number of phones ready to ship. Let's say that number is 1,000 (I have no idea what the number is.) I believe the pull a list of the first 1,000 people who pre-ordered, and build shipping labels, and start smacking labels on the 1,000 phones. I bet that there are many folks running around the warehouse with a stack of labels, just sticking them on boxes -- until they run out of labels. So now...the first 1,000 people who ordered, now have phones ready to go.

Then...perhaps a Fed-Ex truck arrives and grabs a couple of pallets of them. Maybe it takes several Fed-Ex trucks to come get everything that is ready to go. Either way...tonight...there will be many MANY small AT&T boxes moving around the Fed-Ex eco-system.

Then...there is the data entry part. I don't know how it happens...maybe it is manual data entry, or maybe it is a bar code scanner, but someone has to update each account to reflect status and shipping info. Now my assumption (and this is just an assumption) is that this is happening in parallel to and even after the shipping piece. Some underpaid AT&T employees are now going through stacks of shipping paperwork and updating accounts. What order the updates happen is probably purely random. Maybe they won't even get all the updates done tonight...who knows.

The point is...there is ALOT going on...and I guarantee they aren't doing them one at a time, only processing them in the order of purchase. They are doing them in truckloads --- in likely whatever order naturally occurs.

So what this tells me is that you should actually be happy to see people who ordered after you getting notices, since that should further reassure you that your in that first batch.

That's just my random thoughts on the topic.

No way is this entered manually. AT&T would go out of business with an antiquated system like that. I believe what is happening is that AT&T is running a batch job which updates the system daily, probably at night. Since it's dependent on FedEx, it may be on their end also.

My order shows that it processed the 19th, even though I didn't see anything on the site until yesterday afternoon.

That does make it pretty annoying, but if you don't get your phone today and your email said you would, then it's fair to be annoyed. If your email said that, you'll get your phone.

Mine departed the FedEx hub at 411 AM CST for the local FedEx facility nearest the store where I pre-ordered. I am thinking that lunchtime is when we will have AWESOMENESS!!!
 
This is half the fun of pre-ordering. It's like tailgating before a football game.
I agree. And this is pretty much Super Bowl day for Turbo geeks. And for anyone with an eye roller in their life, imagine the reaction I just got when I put the IP cam on the front porch! :D

7pm EST my status changed to shipped with tracking number. 9:30pm got an email from Premier "order shipped" and tracking info. As of 7am my credit card still has not been hit. FedEx tracking says I'll have it by 3pm today. Hard to believe as it is but this might have been orchestrated to time out with the New York City launch today, we all get to open them at the same time! Okay might be giving AT&T way way too much credit. All's well then ends well. I enjoyed my time with you all getting through this! Cheers
 
Ordered on the 8th in a corporate store. Mine still said pending backordered.

Now when I check the status Page I get a "maintenance in progress " message.

I am premier, should have ordered through them.

well i was hoping for some kind of update but nothing! i guess i will call the store i ordered at and ask WTF and probably cancel my order and buy in store cause this not telling anyone anything is BS especially when i am on vacation and only had it shipped to my fathers because i was assured it would be here on or before the 21st!

Ordered on the 15th, White version.

Guess i'm not getting it today.

If 3pm happens and i don't get one, i'm canceling the order/refund, and canceling my ATT Service. I'm merely doing so out of Principle that i've been LIED to and strung around.

Fedex puts in the waybills manually. Go to school with someone who used to work for them and that's what she did. I was shocked when she told me because I've been on tours at their Indy sort facility, the amount of automation is insane. For some reason some things are still done manually.

If your biggest problem is that there is a possibility your new phone might show up a few days late , then congratulations having a life free of real problems!

In other words, relax folks! Your phones are coming :)

(I preordered my white SG3 the first day possible, and im excited for it to arrive when it does!)

It sucks waiting, I get that. But it is obviously the highest demand release that Samsung is controlling between all the carriers. Does anyone honestly think ATT wants to delay or is purposely avoiding locking a contract down for two more years?

Oh you know what? stop patronizing people. Obviously we have lives, Blah blah blah and other issues, NO we aren't entitled young rich kids getting money from our rich mommies and daddies..

This isn't about NOT getting the product, i can live without this phone do you think this is my first phone? Some of us gadget enthusiast's i would venture to say this is around our 5-10 device purchase in a few years.

With all that said, THIS IS ABOUT PRINCIPLE as being a customer, this is STILL our hard earned money, and we are being lied to about SIMPLE THINGS, Simple simple lies... and stringing us around, that's what this is about.

Stop patronizing those that are upset.

Sure am glad I ordered my White S3 through premier on the 6th. Not.

If it's not here today, I will be cancelling my order as well. Tired of the lies. F U at&t!
