Talk about bad communication, I got my CSS email before I got the delayed notification email. I never got a tracking email I had to login to get that. None of this will matter anymore when the phone shows up. Just thought that was pretty funny.

Their communications about your order status have obviously been proven to suck during this launch. Whether that's because they suck in general, or because the demand totally overwhelmed them, I'm not sure. Hope they learn from this though.
On the flip side, I'm impressed with their willingness to apparently upgrade everyone to overnight shipping, and further upgrade some of us to Saturday delivery. At least they're trying to make up for the delays with that action.
It is nice that they are making the effort to get these phones in peoples hands as quick as possible. I have to believe they were caught sleeping on this one a little bit. Hard to believe that the same company that has been dealing with the crush of iPhone orders and launch day madness hasn't ironed everything out. Either Samsung dropped the ball on them and didn't deliver their stock as promised, or someone is in big time trouble at AT&T for not dealing with the huge demand smoothly.
I ordered the white one on the 6th at like 4:00pm at best buy.. I'm pretty sure I was the first pre order of this device since it took them an hour plus a manger to do it! I was hoping that I would get mine yesterday since it was a preorder and not just stock coming to the store. I guess if you preorder through BB then you get put aside....:'

Well that's it. I have had enough!!!! They say my phone is on the truck out for delivery and should be delivered by 3:00 my time. It is now 2:45. They 15 minutes to get it done or I am never using FedEx again. And I will fire AT&T and Samsung. Okay I am being a bit dramatic. But I am not a fan of AT&T. I joined them to get an iPhone and have not Ben able to leave because of a great discount we get through my wife's union. But that being said. I don't think it is their fault. I would say that it is more on Samsung. They are the one responsible to control the inventory to a lot of suppliers. The carriers are at the mercy of Samsung and can only deliver on what they are told. They could have communicated better but maybe they were hoping to get the phones too.

My thought was that they were caught sleeping because this WAS NOT an iPhone launch. It seems they've pretty much come to expect large numbers, high demand, and big expectations from the Apple launches. I assume they spend a large part of the year planning (and recovering from) those...but I think Samsung was a sleeper this year. This is a BIG RELEASE. I think we get it (that's why we're here right) but I bet AT&T didn't see it coming. (Won't debate on whether they should have.) They were probably kicking back in May and early June thinking..."Thank God this isn't one of those big iphone releases..." Whoops!
Samsung is part to blame as well for the manufacturing setbacks, but some well-choreographed communications would have made all of that much smoother.

The stores here are saying the won't get preorders in until their own stock comes in and that will be no later than the 28th
I was read an email by my local best buy manager saying that sprint was coming today(22nd) and that AT&T's S3 should be coming around the same time period. I don't know if this is right but I'm praying that it comes today at the very least.
