Oh no don't wish that upon me. What would I do of I have to return my phone multiple times. Oh man. That's horrible.

I have the developers edition. My updates come directly from htc. The phone just isn't that great. It's really that simple. The adaptive buttons are stupid. I'm always hitting the back button. I can't wait to ditch this phone.

How could anyone really think the HTC One is not good? All those reviewers are dead wrong? I don't even have or want one but that just doesn't make sense. By today's standards it's a premier phone.

Sony XTZ
A Little Premier and kind of outdated phone.

That. Right there. Up above. The dev edition is still dependent on carriers for updates. The reason the dev addition doesn't have any new OSs in the US is likely AT&T.

When you realize who is really responsible for your device not getting updated it makes things a little easier to take.

Sorry, that isn't correct. Many of us were under the same assumption, but it is not accurate. Because of the LTE bands and the way each carrier implements them differently the carriers must test OS updates before they are pushed out on their networks. Even for dev editions that are not carrier branded or sold. That's completely incorrect. The developers edition is also compatable with other services. A quick call to htc will tell you that the developers edition gets updates before att locked phones. It is not an att phone and does not get the same updates the updates come directly from htc. The reason for it is technically developers are supposed to be using the phone and getting a head start on the updates. Matter of fact the firmware is completely different.

Either way you cut it the developer edition gets the update before the carrier. Regardless I know I'm being harsh on the phone. It's a good phone I just can't help but feel a little burned by htc.

We hope it does, but we don't have any evidence of that yet do we?Either way you cut it the developer edition gets the update before the carrier. Regardless I know I'm being harsh on the phone. It's a good phone I just can't help but feel a little burned by htc.
