Hard drop - no damage

i was sleepy after staying up too late watching the Walking Dead and butterfingered my phone. Hit the metal hand rail, then the linoleum steps and metal edging, went down about 3 steps and hit the landing super hard.

so hard it made so much noise my wife came from the other room, saying "i hope that wasn't your new phone"

hit hard enough to make the wood back style mod fly off.

Good news, few small smudges that wiped off, no damage. pretty impressive

Lol, I'm sure you're right about that. I can see it in my minds eye, and it make me cringe.

The phone remains undamaged but the back falls off all the time from the smallest drops. I dropped it on my desk and the back pops off.

I dropped my Moto X 2014 maybe 3x in the two years I had it. I've already dropped this thing at least 8x. A few times onto the hardwood, once into ceramic tile face down, and once on concrete. Only a minor scuff on the edge from the concrete. Screen is a bit scratchy but I'll be swapping that as soon as moto comes out with a replacement shattershield like with the turbo.

Have you tried calling Motorola to see if they will sell you one over the phone? (Speculating that they only sell them that way, not online.)
