Hard Reset and Lollipop

My N4 is increasingly shutting off for no apparent reason, and all of the fixes I've tried haven't worked, so I'm going to do a hard reset. But I want to wait until Lollipop drops.

How do resets work? Does it automatically pull down the latest version available? I'm interested because updates are pushed out to groups of N4s rather than all of them at once. I'm concerned that when I get the alert that Lollipop is available and then do a reset, I'll lose my place in line and get 4.4.4 instead. Or would I still get 5.0 based on my IMEI?

Thanks.

When you factory reset your phone it won't revert your OS to a previous version, if you're on 4.4.4 now you'll be on 4.4.4 after you reset. The only way to downgrade is to flash an older factory image.

Factory resetting shouldn't affect OTA updates, you'll get lollipop when you get it.
