Has anyone dropped their Note 3 yet?

I dropped mine nakid 30 ft a week after I got it. Screen completely shattered. It wouldn't turn on. Had the best buy warranty and got a brand spanking new one a little over a week later. Granted the note had only been out less than a month so they didn't have a refurbished one.

That is great!

You and I have a lot in common. My wife doesn't understand why I'm infatuated with technology and phones. I can explain till I'm blue in the face and she'll just give me a blank stare and call me a dipsh*t for spending all our money! But since I got her the S4, she's on it more than she is on the PC and loves the darn thing. Go figure. I also have a 4 year old. We finally have him trained not to mess with our phones but the Acer A500 is his....take it away from him and it's world war 3.

Look likes the wife+S4 is a growing fad for us Note 3 owners!! Even offered to upgrade her phone to a Note 3. She refused, if she accepted, that would make that fact, that I was smart to return my S4, and wait for a 32gb model. :D BTW,my wife has something that you others have not mentioned, and I am sure they don't have. And that is, my wife is a KNOW IT ALL!! :D
Thinks she knows everything, and don't know JACK.. that is one of the reasons I keep her mitts off my phone. :D

When I was wife shopping I saw a couple know-it-alls. Even took one for a test drive. Promptly returned her for one more in line with my thinking. I count myself as very lucky. :)

My wife flat out told me she knew it all. I said yeah, right and blew it off as a joke. Nope...she wasn't kidding. In fact, she tells me everyday. Kinda like that All-State commercial....just because she read it on the internet....it's true and she's correct no matter how much I disprove her...:)

I ordered my wife off the internet. I can't return her as I'm past my 5 year trail period.

I have dropped my original note without a case couple of times. It has mugen power battery in it, which makes it significantly heavy. Every time I dropped it, the back cover used to open without any damage to the phone. Thankfully, screen was protected by extra layer of Spigen Gorilla Glass and the glass survived every drop without a scratch!!!
As far as Note 3 goes, I ordered Spigen neo hybrid case and Iloome ScreenMate from Amazon right after I bought the phone. Don't wanna take any risk with this expensive and super awesome phone.

I dropped it off the kitchen counter after I got it. I had the insipio dual pro case on it at the time. My son was grabbing the iPad and knocked the phone off

My heart stopped until I realized the phone was 100% Ok.

But now I've switched to the Trident cyclops case with Zagg invisible shield :)

I am about a 4 fall veteran now.. two times single case, two times double case.. Not even close to getting damage.. Plus, double case rocks at high speed on my motorcycle.. In the double case, with tempered glass screen protector/Bounce case/Wallet case, it is just like a baby in arms. Fully protected..

I just threw my N3 out of a 4th floor window when I read your thread title.

Now what did you want to know again, and I'll go test it?

It's alright. It's still lying on the concrete.

I've asked this before but wanted to ask again....
How many cases do you have?
I want another case but this will make it my 3rd one!! Is 3 too many?

Nope. Three is not too many. I went through 6 cases till I found one I loved - Trident cyclops.

You gotta experiment until you find one that fits your needs

Personally, even though I bought a Spigen Neo Hybrid (White frame) before the phone arrived, and tried it for an hour. I have stuck with a ?5 Terrapin flip over case I bought a week later when I was sure I was keeping the N3.

I am certain to live to regret this, as the Terrapin will not give any shock protection.

I read other posts that attests to to the Neo's protection. I should give it another try.
I found with the frame on it was a little too wide and slippery (smallish hands).
It's easier to grip without the frame, but the side gulley must create sore fingers.

The Terrapin via Amazon is super slim, looks and feels great, gives body scrapes and screen protection and seems hard-wearing at the top flip and closure tab.
I have been feeling vulnerable holding it out in front of me in the street. One accidental shove.

I will get the Spigen Bounce at half the price, in grey or the black, though the cross imprints look biblical.

I will also get the S-View new at an exchange centre.

If I keep the Amazon N3. Work is bad.

My go to case before was the Neo Hybrid (yellow) I agree the sides were a bit slippery and I don't think it'll protect much from a drop.

But my case now is the Trident cyclops

Seriously take a look at the Trident cyclops. It protects way more then the Neo Hybrid, is gripper, and I think lighter too

Take a look at the huge Note 3 thread on cases. I just posted pics and my impressions on the cyclops

I don't think I've seen it listed over here in UK. I was just reading previous posts again so you read my mind. I will ckeck again later.

Interested you don't think the Neo won't be great in a fall. I would definitely go for the cyclops if it covers the screen again.

I wonder if anyone raised the larger naked screen issue. Dropping an N3 with a great body shock case but exposed screen will be fine on a flat surface.

Surely if you drop on rocks, angled surfaces etc the centre screen can impact first. Gorilla Glass 3 but others have had big damage.

It's why I like my flip over case.

I think some have a combination of two cases, reading back?

Thanks, I will check the cyclops in a few hours.

Post #1022 is my pics and reviews of cyclops

Amazon is where I got it and currently having a sale on the Trident cyclops. Got it for $24.99 free shipping. Usually $34 or higher I think.

Cyclops does have a screen protector but if you read my review, I hate it and have my own screen shield on. I took their off immediately

The cat knocked mine off the end table about an hour ago. It has the Zerolemon 10,000 battery on it and the mega ballistic Otterbox type case on it and it was fine. The next time I hope it knocks the cat in the head so she'll stop doing it. My phone is a deadly weapon with that 10,000 battery on it. It would teach her a lesson.
