Has anyone gotten the OTA kitkat update?

Not on my, (Nexus 7, 2012), here in northern California.

But, I have a feeling that this coming sunrise, will light the day and Google's, {4.4/kitkat}, will, O. T. A., to my Nexus 7, (2012); Google's first ...

Time will tell.

Tic ... Tic ... Tic

*And then we will want, {5.0}, .....

Thank you, Google. ;-)

Got kitkat 4.4 update on nexus 7 (2012) KRT16S from JWR66Y no adb sideload. Arrived around 8pm PST and took around 10 mins to download. My first initial reaction was that everything looked somewhat the same , a just-noticeable difference in the looks. Kinda dissapointed they didn't include a percentage by the battery notification. Also the kitkat wallpapers were not included in the update. Allthough I found a swift improvement in the speed and performance, also a slight improvment in the sound. Overall no complaints, I wasn't ever anticipating another update anyways, (: now pleasantly thirlled

Framework Trick
Settings-Apps-All-Google Services Framework - Clear Data-Force Stop-Check Update

Do it several time if the first try don't work.

Thanks for this! I got home with my tablet yesterday evening to find that it had failed to download the 185MB OTA update. There was a "Retry Download" button, but pressing it repeatedly did nothing, even after powering off/on my tablet. I used this trick to force it to try again, the process started over, downloaded the update, and all is well. Thanks again!

From a visual standpoint, I have to say, the update on mine has very little change in appearance, nothing like I've seen shown on some web pages that display the new update. Like this one: Android 4.4 KitKat, thoroughly reviewed | Ars Technica

Mine looks pretty much the same as before the update. Only noticable difference is the white icons. Is this just how it is on the N7?

One weird thing was the main home screen was covered in icons of apps I had installed in the past and have since uninstalled. All the icons were just the green android robot. If you tapped on one, it just said 'app not installed'. I had to manual remove them all.

That's because Google didn't enabled Google Experience Launcher to tablets including Nexus 7&10 since it's Nexus 5 exclusive for now sadly. Still the update gave some performance boost to my Nexus 10 but it would've been better with GEL.

I just got it after backing up my pictures & doing a Factory Reset. I thought I'd messed mine up trying to Sideload using Nexus Root Kit so Reset and it appeared, but Nexus Root Kit seems to have messed up my MTP Connection as I can now only connect in PTP (Camera) and get a ClockworkMond ADB Driver in Windows Device Manager instead of the Nexus 7 in built Drivers.

The GEL is included - you just need one more thing to enable it:

Massive Google Search 3.1.8 Update Rolling Out, Brings Google Experience Launcher To All 4.1+ Devices, New Cards, Completely Fixes GEL On Tablets, And More [APK Download]

Installing mine right now. Just got home and noticed it was downloaded sometime today. Will play around with it more and explore how it works.

N7 2012 version. Just got the download/update to 4.4 tonight. Did not have to do anything. If it matters I am in NH.
