Has anyone had any experience about FaceBook app ads?

We've been trying to run some app ads recently, haven't tried any advertisement before. Heard that FB app ads works might work. (Don't know if it's true or not)

Might want to take a shot on FB app install ads. Since there's not necessary to integrate the FB sdk (merely IOS/PLAYSTORE LINK is okay), I suppose once the user click on the ads, it leads to the IOS/PLAYSTORE download page. But my question is, how does FB know if the installation is made or not? How do they charge, just by CLICKing? But there is a CPD option in the ads setting.

So is there anyone who has tried FB app ads?
It would be really great if any related experience could be shared.

Do please let me know if I'm posting wrong place.
If there's a better place like MARKETING forums, would be glad to get moved there XD

I posted the same thread on TouchArcade weeks ago. There has been over 10 thousands clicking on the topic but no one replies. Don't know if there are really few who has made a move with FB or with some reasons else.

But I have to say I have read a lot of different stories concerning Facebook Ads. It always depends on who is making the campaign. I guess I will test it out with small daily budgets and see where it goes. I will keep you guys posted!

Seems so. But according to atticus_furx's post on that reddit thread, it is more likely that might be the wrong average budget of the campaign that leads to no good result. ahhh, who knows.

I wanted to throw out a CPC campaign for one of my game to try on myself but the daily budget requires no less than 40 bucks each day, that is quite scary, for indies. Heard that it was only $1 minimum each day before!:'(

Yeah, I wanted to try on the FaceBook ads myself as well to see how it really works. But the minimum daily budget for either app install ads or CPC ads turns to $40 now, quite a block to me, and to most of the indies I think.

I had some not so good experience a time ago.. with low budget like 20$ ... it does not brought anything to me..
