Has anyone 'lost' photos - pic taken but never saved?

OK... back when my wife had her S7, she kept running into a situation where she'd take some pictures, but some of them would not get saved. She'd take 10, only 8 files would exist. I fussed with this for a while and ended up doing a full factory reset... which helped things, I think, at least until I traded in the phone. Near as I can tell, something in the file system got screwed up.

Now she's been on an S7 Edge since last November, and everything's been running smooth... until yesterday. She took some pictures earlier in the day and when she went back and looked at them, they weren't anywhere on the phone (or on Photos). I saw it happen... she took two pictures and again, no files existed.



Has anyone run into this on theirs? I need to find a good resolution on this because, of course, as I apparently work for Samsung, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Tivo, Facebook and countless other companies that provide services that my wife uses... because it losing photos is somehow my fault.

Yeah, I just got the S7 Edge recently and have noticed this too. Never happened on my S6 or S3.

I THINK what happened is I had the Review picture setting enabled and I was accidentally tapping into the window when reviewing and hitting Delete. I since disabled this setting and haven't noticed it happen again, although I haven't snapped many the last few days.

I've run into the same problem.

I will have to look at that review photo setting...

Edit: no, I already had photo review turned off.

I wonder if it didn't save because I did not turn off the screen, or properly exit the camera function...

I don't think that's related... because it's sporadic and random. The phone should save the photo instantly after taking it, matters little what you do in the app.

One would think... But there has to be a reason why the photo never saved.

I'm reading about this .nomedia file... I will see if that makes a difference, though it looks like a reboot of the phone recovered some pictures.

It has happened to me on more than one occasion since the update to Nougat.

On one or two occasions I've taken a series of photos on a WP Lumia, only to find subsequently that they have not saved to the Photos app, or to anywhere....no SD card used. I've no idea why. WP is a different universe, but it happens there as well.

Oh wait, I've just realised I'm posting in some Samsung forum or other. I thought the question was a general Android one. Doh!

This happens to me all the time! Before the Nougat came out, it was doing it. I took a bunch of pictures at my Dads... got home to look at them and they were no where. I started noticing it a lot more lately.
