Has anyone received EI22 OTA?

I don't think so, at least nobody has posted it in the update thread that I know of...

Everyone was so ready to jump on GB they did the manual update, even those who would of never attempted it in the past are doing it..

But if you want to wait, that is cool...

Paul627g, I'm so disappointed in you...How could you not see this:

I mean it's not like you were helping anyone that day;)

Ok..so far I still have not received the OTA, as of 8:20 EST, this might a silly questio but anything is worth considering at this point...I am stock EC05, non-rooted...could it be because SPB shell is my default launcher that I haven received the OTA? Just wondering.

No a 3rd party launcher on a non rooted device would have nothing to do with it...

Try forcing the update by going to your settings/about phone and the system updates thing... Otherwise you have the manual update route...

Edit: I know in the past especially on old Eclair there were some users that were "stuck" on old versions of Eclair even earlier version than the final Eclair DI-18 and they weren't able to receive the OTA update. Not sure if it was a hardware thing or whatever but they came to me and I helped them via Odin to upgrade to Froyo EB13 and then they were able to receive the OTA update to Froyo EC05 .. So basically what I'm saying is there is obviously a small percent of devices out there that have some issue with receiving the OTA update properly...

Just got it! Starting to install now. My phone was warm and the battery dropped earlier than usual. Now I know why (and why those 3G arrows hadn't turned off).

Thanks for this info, Paul. As of now, mine must be one of those handful of devices. I'm at work now, but if I don't get it by the end of my work day. I'll roll up my sleeves update manually some time when I get home. I wasn't averse to doing it manually, but wanted to receive the OTA, just for the thrill, I guess... So much for that, at this point, lol.

Thanks, again!

No problem... Don't give up hope, people are still reporting this morning just now getting the OTA... Its not like once that 8 day window stated for the OTA update roll out is the end of it either... The OTA will still remain active until whenever Google decides to shut it down... Froyo's and Eclairs OTA's still remain active.

You either have a fussy OTA device or might just be at the end of the line for the OTA update.

I did the manual update and the other night, I woke up and noticed that my phone was lit up. I assumed it was getting the OTA update and went back to sleep. When I got up in the morning, the phone was stuck on a Sprint logo screen that I didn't recognize. After I got a shower and everything, it was still stuck there so I took the battery out. Since then I have had to pull the battery twice due to it locking up.

My other friend got it today at around the same time I did also. I got a text right when the update prompt appeared on my phone, and when I rebooted it was him telling me he got his also. Only lil quirk I've seen is it reset my notifications sounds, and my friend said his icons on the screens were rearranged. It took a huge chunk out of my battery but it hasn't moved since then.

EDIT: My other Epic friend just got it also, so it seems to be pushing out to almost everyone now. That or we're all next to each other in Google's queue or whatever.

For some reason this reminded me of Eagle Eye... "you have just been activated". lol

You may have to do a factory reset to clear it out and get rid of the lockups.... I know, not what you wanted to hear....

I just got the update this morning. Got an update notification and it finished rather quickly. I can see the gingerbread battery indicator and the voicemail icon is different. However, my indicator light is not working for charging, new emails/messages, etc. This seems to be a common cross-platform problem. I am looking for the solution. Very annoying. Anyone who has a silenced phone during meetings knows how critical it is to get the visual indicator of a message. Anybody that needs more than 5 minutes of battery life needs to know the @#* charger mini usb plug hasn't slipped out of place in the car...

So I decided to do the manual update and it has worked perfectly. I panicked for a second b/c I looked as though the phone would get stuck in the Galaxy S screen, but it worked out fine in the end. The phone was a bit sluggish at first, but it was fine afterwards (I rebooted it). The phone seems faster, which is nice.

Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G.

My wife's Text notification tone was turned off in the update. I attempted to turn it back on in the phone sound settings, but I actually had to go thru the messaging settings to turn it back on before it would work.

It's not that big of a deal. I just did one like a week before I got GB. I only installed a half dozen geek apps like antennas and ES file explorer and GPS essentials. All my stuff is sync'd.

I was wondering what would happen when the OTA update came knocking after I'd already taken matters into my own hands.

I haven't been able to update firmware, PRL or profile since I manually updated. When I went through the process, it wanted to try to update the firmware when it booted up, but that failed. My wife's S2 will update those without the error.

Maybe this weekend, I'll do the factory reset and try again.

I received my update on Tuesday but since I was rooted it didn't work so I had to go unroot and flash it from the link on AC

I just did a Profile and PRL update and after the radio reset by the PRL update it found the GB update and is currently downloading. Before that, the device would report no update available. Worth a try if you still haven't recieved the push... (stock Froyo, btw)

I didn't end up getting the chance to do the manual update yesterday after work, as I had hoped.

But, a few minutes ago, I grabbed the phone to check the time and lo and behold, the OTA notification was there!!!! Yippie!

I'm at work and my battery is only 49% so, it's charging now.

When it's full, I'll install.

If I encounter any issues, I'll be hitting the boards!

Thanks for your vote of confidence, Paul!

No problem.... I figured it was just running a bit late coming out to you... Then again that is Samsungs style isn't it? LOL..

Best of luck.
