Has anyone received EL30 OTA Update

Nothing yet; home is NJ but I'm in San Diego right now. I have stock GB by manual download but with non-rooted GPS_fix.zip installed. Anyone know if that will that affect OTA update?

Should NOT, only if rooted, then OTA fails.

Please, please no more posts if you have NOT gotten the OTA yet. We already know most won't get it until after it has been out for a week or more.

ONLY POST IF YOU GOT THE OTA! That way this thread actually updates with news. Again, if you have not gotten OTA, that is NO news and we don't care. If you DO get the OTA, then that is news. Thanks.

Oh and btw, it makes no difference where you are as to when you get it. They don't push the OTA based on geography or city.

I was just prompted to update but I'm rooted with cm7 and legendary rom. My understanding is that I have to go back to stock in order to upgrade to el30, right?! And I don't think I can even go back to stock gb...I have to go back to stock froyo in order to go back to stock gb! I knew this was going to be difficult, lol!

I just got the update, but I haven't installed it yet, because I don't want to mess up my root.
.
I've rooted my phone, but I left it basically like stock. I replaced my kernel to it doesn't over write my clockwork boot loader, and added su/busybox, but kept the standard rom.

If I try to run the update, will it work? Will it break my root access? Do I have to figure out how to make it stock again?

If your rooted them you will most likely get a fail if you try to install the update. You will have to return to stock too receive the OTA update or flash a custom ROM built from it when they become available.

We have a thread sticky in the rooting and hacking section for factory restore or fix a bricked device.

It's too bad we couldn't get the stock kernel/recovery file to flash to return to unrooted stock EI22 rather than having to go thru the EC05-EI-22-EL30 route. Remember before we flashed the kernel fix that had a script that would remove root everytime we rebooted? Why couldn't we get a copy of that old kernel and just remove root and CWM recovery and then update?

YUP, I knew I right!! Thats quite a few steps to go back to stock! I've decided I'm staying put for now because my phone works beautifully right now!

Confirmed noCIQ w/ EL30...........will wait to have a good 30 mins to ODIN back to EC05, ODIN cwm3, flash su.zip, flash cwm5.0.2.7, flash EI22 update, flash EL30 update, and then flash newest cm7 Nightly...........then in cwm5 recovery: advance restore data only fr recent cm7 Nandroid.........will have to grab 30 mins + do this UPDATE so I can see if the reports of erratic behavior are true or not :)

Yea people on cm7 are only doing it for the updated modem. Imo best to always be on the most current one.
