Has anyone replaced their battery yet?

As new phone season arrives, I've been thinking about whether to hold on to my S6 or "upgrade" incrementally to the S7, G5, or maybe the new Nexus. All things considered, I realized that I am still quite happy with my S6, none of the new features of any of the new flagships this year make me stop and say wow I need that in my life. On the contrary, I'd like to see how the implementation of new features like always on, reduction of rear cam megapixels, and move away from micro USB (G5) pan out. That said, my biggest sore spot with my S6 is its absolutely atrocious battery life. If only that could be addressed, I realized, then I would happily hang on to this phone for another year or even two.

That said, have any of you folks braved the disassembly of your S6s to install new/better batteries? Ive seen some youtube videos and it definitely seems... Manageable by people with steady hands and experience.

I'd definitely be interested to see if anyone has done this as well. Battery life is the only thing I don't like about the device.

is there a place I can actually buy a beefier battery? like an aftermarket source of some kind? I am really interested and theres a booth at a local mall that fixes phones that I always buy stuff from so I'm sure he'll install it for me cheap/free

Seriously doubt there is a beefier battery available as that would be thicker and the cover would not handle it, or would require a newer battery formulation to get more power in the same size. Since Samsung is not offering either, and since the battery is not considered consumer accessible, I doubt anyone else will offer it either.

Would you try something like this? It adds microSD storage at the same time. Probably cost about the same as replacing your internal battery if you took it to a tech.
