Has anyone successfully recorded video with audio using an external mic on an LG G3?

I have no idea what I did but after a couple of hours of messing around with this I simply got a result ( and no it is not because I had the battery in backwards it was correct the first time ) . I still have no sound with the onboard camera app but I did get audio from my atr 3350 , finally, using OpenCamera app ( free app on google play for those of you who are interested), I have not tested it on the lg Camera app again, yet, but at least I know it is possible now. So I can answer my own question! Yes I have successfully recorded video with audio using an external mic on my LG G3.

I just acquired an LG G3 and I plan to use it to shoot video. I need the audio to be good so I bought an atr 3350 with a smartphone adapter to use an an external mic. I have plugged everything in but I can't get any sound from the LG G3 camera through the mic. I have tried downloading apps because the LG G3 onboard camera app is severely lacking in controls but even with the apps I have downloaded where I can assign an external mic I can't get any sound. It is a condenser mic so I have tried reversing the flat battery it came with ...just in case it was that simple but I have not had any luck. Has anyone succeeded in connecting an external mic to an LG G3? Thanks

Well if you don't stream than you can take video with phone and audio separately, and later sync it on computer...
