Has anyone switched to the Unlimited 4G Plan?

On my post paid unlimited I went close 90 gigs streaming NBA and tennis games. Not a peep from T-Mobile.

What's unlimited for T-Mobile? I wouldn't pay more money for their new and improved "unlimited plan". I don't trust what they say. Their vernacular is totally different from everybody else's. I already have a plan that's supposed to be unlimited. In fact, it says as much on my bill each month, yet T-Horrible will throttle me when I use 2G of data. Is that unlimited to you? T-Horrible advertise they have the largest 4G network - and even go so far as to show you phony maps of it - when their network in fact is mostly EDGE, with 4G in only a few select large cities.

Having been burned by their misrepresentations I no longer trust anything they say, nor am I interested in anything new they come out with.

Pretty sure that the fine print on your plan read "unlimited data, and first 2gb at 4G speeds then Edge after that". You gotta read the fine print!

The $70 unlimited plan is truly unlimited, and no caps or throttling.

If u are getting throttled u aren't on the unlimited plan.

I agree that the wording could be done to be less confusing. T-Mobile has a bunch of "unlimited" data plans that are differentiated by when they start to throttle.

$50 throttled after 100MB
$60 throttled after 2GB
$70 No throttle - this is the new plan

This is why I chose Solavei (T-Mobile MVNO). It's $49 unlimited throttled after 4GB. They also have a referral program which can effectively lower this rate.

4GB is enough for me and a better value than the $50 or $60 T-Mobile plans. The $70 plan is great if you use a ton of data. I don't use enough to spend the extra $20 a month, but obviously a lot of people do.

The fine print always said throttled after 2GB for your plan. Still I agree it stupid don't get me wrong.. But if we know anything in this world it's always read the fine print. Every commercial claims so much then there is always something to contradict what they said at the bottom and that's what you always gotta look for.

As for their new plans they are fully unlimited if you go with the 70 $ one (no throttle). Or you could go to Sprint but I would recommend that only if where you live is being upgraded by what Sprint calls "Network Vision" since this means they are fixing the 3g in the area as well as deploying LTE. I am in that situation right now.. I'd say half of where I go in Jacksonville has LTE and half doesn't.. But the network is being built at least so I know it's only a matter of time before LTE is everywhere.

But yeah.. I'd say those are you options. Go to the Tmobile 70 plan and get no throttle or Sprint. Or.. Just stay on the plan you are currently on but you will be thrown to edge after 2GB. :)

I just switched last week from the 5gb to the truly unlimited plan and I'm paying for $5.00 less. I no longer have tethering, but I never tethered anyways. I use my device a lot during the day and most months I don't even use 5gb.

I'm going to be away from wifi more now, so I wanted to give myself some peace of mind knowing I won't be throttled once I hit 5gb. I could have paid $30 more a month and got 10gb with tethering, but I haven't needed tethering so this seems like a perfect fit, and definitely the best deal going...at least for me. Plus it works well for me because I have good coverage at home & work and on my long commute.

I plan to eat an AT&T ETF and switch to the new TMO $70 prepaid unlimited next week on the Nexus 4, can't wait. I bought a TMO SIM in Los Angeles last month and their HSPA was consistently faster than AT&T's LTE there (I used 2GB in 1.5 days). I'll be saving 20+ bucks a month and getting truly unlimited instead of the paltry 3GB I get with AT&T.

I talked at length with a TMO rep today, and bought a SIM card with 2GB service to test it out where I work. He said prepaid customers get "degraded" service compared to post-paid, but I suspect this claim is exaggerated to steer people into contracts. Like I said, the "degraded" T-Mobile prepaid service I bought in Los Angeles was beating contract AT&T LTE consistently in the tests I did around Hollywood and Koreatown. The Nexus 4 was a nuclear bomb dropped on the big carriers and the two-year contract paradigm.

Yeah my buddy has unlimited AT&T. Unfortunately it is throttle after an undisclosed amount of data. He loves watching anime. Bad combination. Data throttle after a week or 2 and then just wait til it resets next month. He borrows my T-Mobile unlimited data sometimes.
Lol

I would've got the unlimited plan. Why not have a contract but get throttled?

Well, if this is degraded, I want to see upgraded. Hahaha

Undisclosed? I can tell you... ATT has told people what they throttle at.

3GB of data for 3g/"4g"
5GB for LTE.

You must like 2G coverage because that's what you'll get with T-Horrible - the nations largest 2G network.
