Has anyone used Google's financing through the store?

I'm thinking of a Pixel 3, but don't want to use a credit card. Anything I should know before I buy?

I have used it. You will be applying for a line of credit of the total amount at checkout with Synchrony bank. If you are approved you will be able to complete the purchase right away. It's pretty easy

You will get an email with login details to access your account where you can make payments and you will also receive a paper statement in the mail. They break the payments up in 24 month increments.

Just like like line of credit just make the payments and try to pay it off early. I was approved for only 1K last year now I have a 3K line of credit.

I've used it, it's simple easy to use. My only complaint would be that once I paid the monthly bill early and it didn't count it for the following month but the previous month and then I had a late fee. After a long phone call I got it removed but still that was a frustrating hour out of my day.

Seemed pretty simple, instant approval...0% beats actually paying the full amount like I did for the P2 XL last year.

I have. It is basically like any other store / credit / financing offer. Pay it each month on time and pay it off before the final date or get slammed with insane interest rate.

Except with the Google Store Financing they actually do divide the purchase amount into 24 equal payments so as long as you make the monthly payment as required then you WILL pay it off in 24 months so there is no getting slammed with an insane accumulated interest rate.

Other store promotional financing offers do not do this. While they still provide you with a minimum monthly required payment this minimum payment is NOT based on paying off the balance within the promotional financing period. On these types of offers if you do only make the minimum payment you will NOT pay it off within the promotional period and thus get slammed by accrued interest.

Thanks, guys. I took the plunge, got approved and ordered a P3 128GB black. I can't wait. Delivery Oct. 24-25th.

That can happen with any credit card. You have to pay close attention to the minimum payment date. You can pay early but you'll still be responsible for your normal min payment date. So even if you make a $500 payment, you still have to make that $25 min payment every month.

I used it for my 2XL. Simple and straight forward as described. Pay on time, and the minimum amount, and you will pay off in 24 months, just in time to buy the Pixel 5 😁

Super easy. Password is pain in the butt from synchrony bank. I forgot mine once and it was awful to reset. Otherwise smooth sailing.

it was tempting to do 24 months financing but I was saving some cash ($400 on hand) so I made an outright purchase

Yeah I did last year for my P2XL. Zero issues. Paid $100 a month and was done by May. Thinking about using it for that assistant screen thing on the stand.. lol I have been so busy don't even know what it's called

I am totally dissatisfied with Google financing through Synchrony Bank. I never received any statements until I called up and asked why I kept getting a letter that I had not gone paperless (but NO statement with the letter). They enrolled me on the phone and when I got my first statement, it was "delinquent." I called again today about the "delinquent" account, and she informed me I wasn't enrolled in electronic (what she meant was auto-pay) billing. So over the phone I had this bill paid in full, with the promise that the penalty would be removed. I wanted the confirmation e-mailed, and she said she could not do that but she could text me the confirmation. I have yet to get the confirmation e-mail and the bill on the website says I still owe the "delinquent" amount. I just tried to chat, and I obviously was interacting with a computer who couldn't tell I had ALREADY paid on the phone. Ugh.

I am totally dissatisfied with Google financing through Synchrony Bank...

I just experienced the worst online transaction I've ever experienced in my life using the Google Store. A promotion ran last week for 50% off the Pixel 3. I filled out all the information required for 24 month online financing and was instantly approved. I realized something was wrong when I received paperwork from Synchrony Bank the next week, no mention of the phone purchase. Then I realized my credit card was charged for the full discounted amount of the phone. I have spoken with numerous agents at Google Store who admit there is an issue with the website. The only resolution they have given is to return the phone and finance a new phone which is now $100 higher in price. At this point, even though I like the phone although it has voicemail issues when forwarding calls to the phone, I am considering returning it for a full refund. Only problem is I already ported my cellphone to Google Fi and closed my ATT account. What a debacle. Now I have a hard hit on my credit, the phone is not financed, and I have been faced with a large charge to my credit card that should have never occurred.
