Has everyone received their software OTA yet?

I havnt gotten it yet. Just going to wait until I get the alert / advisory saying an update is available (assuming they send one, like I used to get on my BB). No hurry to get it really.

Yet another example of reps who don't know ****

Live Chat transcript excerpt (I am a Live Chat operator myself, so I was being as nice as possible):

Rick: I have had a few random restarts during the past 48 hours, though.
Lena: We do not have any reported outages. Are you in a high rise building now?
Rick: Nope. Here at work is a 2 story building. At home is a 3 story house and a 2 story house.
Lena: How many bars do you have now?
Rick: Currently I have 2 bars, and it's 3G.
Lena: Okay. Is the roaming indicator appearing?
Rick: When at home I have anywhere from 0-3, typically 1 on average, somtimes 2. The roaming did disappear, yes.
Lena: Does it appear now?
Rick: Nope, I am not showing roaming at the moment, no.
Lena: The roaming indicator appears when there is no service in an area. If you are in a certain part of the building then the service may roam. The indicator will appear as it is automatic depending on if there is coverage.
Lena: As far as the reset and the battery. The battery issue should have been corrected with the software update. The reset is not normal.
Lena: I will check if we have additional information regarding the reset.
Rick: Thank you Lena!
Lena: This seems be due to an application running. Do you use a task killer?
Rick: Hmm, okay. I do not use a task killer, no. It was recommended by a few friends. Does Verizon have a specific one you guys recommend?
Lena: We do not recommend third party applications. But I can send you a link to a droid forum for some that are recommended.
Rick: I have read on Android Central in the Thunderbolt section that since the software update many people have had issues with random reboots: http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-thunderbolt/84749-battery-pull-seemed-help.html Just an FYI. I'll look into a task killer as well, thank you.
Lena: I recommend a task killer and if the issue persists, we can send you a replacement battery which can be another reason why it is resetting.

OTA

Yesterday I looked at my phone and checked for software update. I finally got the window saying it would download and I checked O.K. I was currently using 4G, but it switched to 1X and started downloading. Took awhile, like maybe 10 minutes and then poof...no reboot, no download. I did a manual reboot and I checked to see if the update was there, but it wasn't. So, I manually tried doing it again, but now I just get that Error message saying it is not available at this time. The only good thing is that it doesn't sound like I'm missing much.

I haven't received the update myself. I tried to manually pull it on 4G, 1X, 3G with Wi-Fi on and off each time but nothing popped up.

Does this update help in the switching from 3G to 4G? Verizon just expanded the 4G network all across the Chicago(land) area and I never lose 4G because of this. Would this be a reason as to why I'm not receiving it yet? I would assume Verizon wants those who may switch a lot to get it first. But who knows.

Edit: I just checked their coverage map with my address plugged in and I'm in a 4G Extended Area. However, I doubt that's true anymore and I'm pretty sure I'm in a 4G area directly. Mainly because the signal got even stronger lately and even 4G areas now are still showing as 3G on the map. I guess those maps update once monthly or even less eh? :)

Note: Just mentioning my 4G status as a possibility of the delay.

Still no update. Have just stopped checking for it and am leaving it to a higher power: ya know, geeky communication company executives. lol
