Has your battery life been trash since June?

Mine has been in the tank since June. I had zero issues with this phone until then.

I haven't noticed, but then again I've been using my 6 Pro pretty intensively for photos over the past few weeks on vacation, so I expect the battery to drop a little faster.

Yes. The June update killed my battery life. I was expecting worse battery life because at the the time I left 5G on. Turning it off helped. So far Jul update seems ok.... I guess....

Battery life is better than either my S21 Ultra or S22 Ultra. No complaints at all.

Mine has never been good. Probably because of how hot it gets constantly. I'm thinking of doing another reset and going back to a stable build since the beta has been so bad for me. Anybody with the July update have a verdict on battery life?

I've seen a little bit of drain since I went back to this phone as my daily ...giving it a bump in the evening for longer days usage

I've never been away from a charger long enough for me to notice. If I'm near one, I charge to 80%, and that will always carry me til the next time I'm near a charger to charge til 80% again. Repeat ad nauseum.

I go on hiking trips for a few days at a time. I do have a 10,000 mah battery I can carry to charge from but it's extra weight. Got to save every ounce you can.

I agree for most, and even me most of the time, we are near a charger and can top up when we want to. I will still argue that they are supposed to be MOBILE phones which means the ability to be mobile and not tied to a cord. Half the problem is people needing super advanced screens and other things that such up battery. For me it's finding to right compromise. Not so easy to do.

Right. That's why I like my P6...it doesn't have some of the specs that require a choice. I remember when I had a S20 Ultra, I had to decide between 120 refresh rate or the best resolution. I couldn't have both, and either choice meant a dip in battery life.

One time I knew I wouldn't be able to charge was a day in Disneyland. You're basically on the app all day checking ride times, plus you want to capture video and pictures. My solution wasn't a power bank, but you bring additional phones. My P6 had the sim so it was only for communication and the app, while the P4 was for stills and the Note 10+ was for high resolution video. No phone fell below 40% by the end of the day, where I can imagine 1 phone would have given up in the late afternoon

Yes, my battery life has been much worse for the past couple of weeks or so, no change from prior use. I came here to see if there were any remedies as I am going on vacation tomorrow and will be away from a charger more often. Lately I have difficulty with my battery lasting 8 hours. I just checked for updates and was told I was up to date but checked for updates and found an update was available which I am now installing. I hope this helps. If not, I guess I will be turning off 5G to try that.

My Screen ON Time with my Pixel 6 Pro is generally around 3 to 4 hours and at the end of the day I usually have about 40% battery remaining. I'm self-employed and work from home. I'm on a mesh system WiFi. My typical use is checking my email, checking my trading on my Interactive Brokers app when away from my computer, checking news. I'm on a bit of social media. I'm on a couple of forums. I check deliveries. I have 6 Google Wireless Security Cameras on the corners of my house and when one of them reports activity, I'll check the live video or video history. I have Google Home and a lot of Home Automation to control, lights, thermostat, etc. I take a few pictures here and there. Of course, there are a few phone calls. After 8 months of use I can't complain about battery life at all. I genuinely love my Pixel and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Coming from a Blackberry I have been quite disappointed with the battery capability of the pixel 6. Turning off 5G and the always in display really helped. But even with this I wouldn't call it an all day battery.

If you wanna use the phone for a trip. A little bit of Google map and the battery drains is unbearable. Since June update and even after July update I did notice a change for the worst. It's actually why I came to the forum here cause I was looking for tips and tricks to make it better

I've used my Pixel 6 Pro on several trips. You're right, the battery gives out quickly if you're on Google maps for hours at a time. But the solution to that problem is easy enough. Plug it into a car charger.

I don't have a Pixel 6. However, on all my phones past and present I've noticed Waze to be less of a battery hog than Google Maps.

I've been using my 6 Pro heavily on my trip to Switzerland, and it's held up great. Taking a ton of pics, which is typically one of the biggest battery drains. If I wanted to, I could probably wait until the end of the day to charge, and it'd still be at around 30-40%

Good point. But I'm traveling in an old motorcycle. No USB charger on those :). Currently I'm in China and here your phone is like a passport with covid restriction going on. Cops can stop you any time and ask to see your qr code. If you don't have juice in your battery anymore, you better find something to charge, which is impossible at checkpoints on a country side.

Having a phone that can really handle a day of use in different situation should be a basic job for phone. Only for peace of mind.

But I get that for mostfolk doing city things or having a car and a charger nearby it's more than enough with current battery capacity.

What I loved with the blackberry was that you could do 2 days on a low usage and a real full day on the road, taking pics and showing maps. Real peace of mind. Never had to worry about it. Been looking for new phones with the same capacity since then, but only offer is like huge bulky phone with outdated specs.
