Is it possible for me to somehow bypass my Asus File Manager. It forces me to be on WiFi to transfer files, and it limits functioning. For example, I can't transfer directories. I have done a lot of googling and searching this forum, but I'm not seeing anything on this yet.

I have an older Asus tablet that lets me plug it into the USB port and treat it like another drive, transferring files easily.

With the current File Manager set up, I open a browser tab and access the contents of the tablet, but the behavior is limited. I'll bet Asus is not the only manufacturer to create this kind of problem, so I hope some folks have found solutions.

Does the tablet let you connect it to the computer using a USB cable so that your computer's file browser (Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer) can see the tablet as an external drive?

Okay, this is really odd, ManiacJoe, but this time the problem does not happen. Before, I would do just what you said, plugging the tablet in via USB, and there would be a special Asus icon and it would be impervious to my attempts to open it. Today, it worked like magic;I can see everything and transfer files with Windows Explorer. Well, I'm thrilled, of course. So I'll bring this up with screen shots if it repeats the old behavior.
