Have any of you here who own the Note 4 considered the LG G4?

I was considering an Lg g4 because I really don't enjoy lollipop, and don't feel like risking downgrading to kit Kat because I'm a weeny and once I tried to root my wife's s4 and ran into some issues but it left me kinda paranoid an messing with my phone.

I went to the tmobile store because I wanted to check out the G4,and even though it's a nice phone I was comparing the screens side by side and I really preferred my screen over the lg g4, I know there different screen types, but I played the same Full HD video on YouTube and I feel my Note 4 look way better, what do you guys think?

I decided to wait and see what the note 5 has to offer, the problem is I'm super impatient and I have some extra money to spend right now lol any feedback or comments are appreciated.

I looked to see if this had been posted already but couldn't find anything, but I apologize if it's been asked before.

Anything posted about the note 5? I switched from the note to the nexus just because of the user experience. The note in my time doesn't respond well, so I changed it to a nexus. The screen is nice but not like the note. So I was thinking about the g4 but then I remembered the g3 had a lot of lag as updates were issued... So I don't know... But I can promise you that the screen on the g4 is fantastic. Very rich and saturated especially for an LCD screen.

Well everything about the Note 5 is purely speculation I believe, some might be true but we won't know until it it released.

Yeah I was considering the Nexus 6 also because of the stock Android experience, but after people have said the more reduced TouchWiz on the s6 is a lot better I'm kinda hopefull for the Note 5.

Will non removable battery or not upgradeable storage be a deal breaker for you if they do that to the Note 5?

I didn't consider any other phone at all.

I read a lot of comments on how the LG G4 had a really great screen, and I know it is said Samsung's screens are over saturated but honestly I must've got used to it, because the LG G4 at tmobile was at 100% brightness, my Note 4 was at like 70% and I just couldn't see what was so great about the LG G4 and I'm not trying to be biased it's just my opinion.

The s6 screen is really nice, but I can't think of losing some screen by stepping down from A Note to an S phone, this is my first Note phone I had the s4 previously, and an HTC thunderbolt before that.

The note 4 is an awesome phone, the biggest problem I have is how drastically my battery life changed with lollipop for me and my wife's note 4, and an occasional hiccup here and there, but I kinda feel right now any phone I look at seems like a downgrade from the Note 4.

Again this is only an opinion thanks for everyone's feedback

Only because it's a Samsung device. They are notorious for battery life issues, randomly occurring. So for me that is a deal breaker... I am staying away from future Samsung devices. I doubt they will bring lighter UI to the note 4 just because that will be a good reason to upgrade to the note 5... They're all about maximizing sales. Have you seen their latest rumors? To launch the next S devices within the next few months. Less than a year after the s6 and it's edge counterpart. Hmmphhh

Yeah you're right, these big companies are mad greedy that's how they get to where there at.

I have had two iPhone's in the past and tho they are nice phone's, Apple products are not my cup of tea.

I had the original Nexus phone by HTC, and at the time it seemed to be ahead of its time, I really loved that phone.

I bought an HTC Hd2 and I wish I would have known to flash android to it, because windows on a phone wasn't for me either, the lack of apps was difficult to deal with.

I've had many phone's but my last two have been Samsung and tho I only use some of the features TouchWiz provides, I am sure I can live without them also, so I have been thinking about trying a new phone.

My last HTC phone was a thunderbolt with Verizon, and it was a nightmare because of updates they pushed that weren't ready.

Have you read anything if there will be a new nexus phone this year?

I too am thinking about jumping onto the LG G4 bandwagon. I have been with Samsung since the original Galaxy S. So this would definitely be a change. I have read all the great things about the LG G4 and have tried it out in the store and love it. Let me say that the screen is awesome, but I can't really tell the difference between the screens. The leather back is very nice too! I love my Note 4 but since the 5.0.1 update I have been having some issues with the way the device works. I have reset the device many times and cleared the cache. None of that has helped so I am not sure where I stand with the Note 4 anymore. Grrr

This is my third Samsung phone's my first Samsung phone was a flip phone back in like 2004 lol but only my second smartphone.

I have a note 10.1 2014, and my wife a note 8.0 and they are great devices besides little hiccups herein and there which every phone has, but I am also thinking of a change the only problem is sometimes change is scary lol.

Plus from previous experiences change can cause regret like trying windows mobile and then having trouble selling the phone and losing money when selling it at a very low price out of desperation :)

I'm thinking of going to check out the LG g4 once more, because the day I went we were all swarming around it like bees on a hive, and I didn't want to hog it up so I only played really quick with it and checked out the screen through some video.

You just can't avoid lollipop. Every phone will have it eventually. 5.1.1 is supposed to improve lollipop under the hood to get rid of certain issues. As far as Samsung devices having battery issues, I've never heard of this. All phones react differently to updates and how someone uses their phone.
The Nexus 6, for its size, doesn't have good battery life. Everyone will have their own stories and complaints about any phone. But, I thing Samsung overall seems to have less issues than most phones.
The over saturation angle goes way back several years when a lot of manufacturers were mostly using LCD screens. Samsung also has 5 preset settings to adjust saturation and color. This is simply not an issue anymore, but more of a benefit. If you have an LED TV at home, you already know that images pop and look great.

I actually had the LG G3 for the past 8 months and while I liked it I just didn't like the screen as much as I did AMOLED displays. Just last week I upgraded to the G4 because of the promotion and price and after messing around for it for a few days I really didn't see it as that much of an upgrade over the G3. So I took it back to my local T-Mobile retailer and got the Note 4. Love it so far...just need to root it and ditch Touchwiz as a launcher....but the screen is beautiful. Happy I made the switch.

Also, I would have waited for the Note 5 but with both the S6 and S6 Edge not having removable batteries or expandable memory, I'm pretty sure those features will be absent from the Note 5. I hope that isn't the case but I have a strong feeling they will be.

While the Note 4 may have occasional battery issues, these are largely rendered irrelevant by the fact that the battery can easily be swapped out.

I had an LG Optimus G Pro and it didn't even last 4 months before the LTE radio stopped working entirely, and the GSM/HSPA+ radio became less reliable. Big, bold, beautiful screen. Best screen EVER. But the build quality was terrible. And it suffered from horrendous performance problems. The GPU was completely inadequate for such a beast of a screen, and it didn't have enough memory.

Thankfully my plan allows me to switch phones at full subsidy any time I want, so it's now a very adequate tablet for my daughter.

Leykis I knew I wasn't crazy, I just thought the LG G4 screen looked really dim compared to my Note 4 thanks for the feedback it's cool to hear from someone that has experience with the LG brand since I've never owned one I can't say what they're like.

They are really nice phones I'm not taking anything away from LG , I just couldn't get over the whole screen thing, the Spen is something I can do without because even though I write a lot of notes on my Note for sermons, I always use the keyboard.

Nope, no S-Pen no interest. I use it all-the-time, so it's a must have feature! :)

I hear you my wife uses the S-pen a lot more than me, and even though I use the keyboard to write my notes down mostly, the S-pen has come through when I need to jot down quick info and there's no paper or pen around.

Now that I remember I have had one LG phone and it was the Optimus for Virgin mobile, I know it isn't a flagship phone lol
But it was all I could afford at the time

But that phone would bug out big time, so I can say that most phones will have problems at least from my experience.

I was thinking of jumping into one of those plans from Tmobile whereas I can switch out a phone at least every year, but I'd have to do some mode research to see if it is beneficial for me, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah you're right we will all have complaints about different things with our phone's, I was getting a full day before lollipop, I'm not a heavy user like gaming and videos.

I mostly read and check my email and text very little, and now halfway through my shift I have to hook it up to a power source, and I kinda don't want to buy a battery because I will be selling it to get my next phone, so I guess I just got to suck it up lol

You're right about the images popping I think the screen is beautiful, thanks for the feedback.

I will say, for the sake of fairness, that the LG OG Pro had one claim to fame - a massively awesome bright screen. It's a serious slab of beauty. It was also a very inexpensive phone. So the build quality may have suffered from it being a "budget flagship". I have little doubt that the G4 has improved on that.

However, the Note 4 build quality appears SUPERB. Plastic where plastic makes sense, metal finishing touches where they make sense. Everything feels solid, and the performance has been good.

I haven't seen a G4. It may be awesome. But I can't keep myself from associating LG with the OG Pro. Just like HTC with the Thunderbolt I carried, which was a complete dogpile of a phone.

But, as I said, I can phone hop on my plan, so I don't fret as much about build quality in general. I am freer than most to experiment, and I do. I went from the OG Pro to a Moto X (too small, gave it to a friend), then a Moto X 2014 (battery life was too short, battery not replaceable), and now the beast of a Note 4 I am now sporting. I liked and disliked various things about all four phones, but the Note 4 seems to have hit the sweet spot. For now.

Yeah I feel the same about Apple products, I'm sure they have improved on many things I used to dislike, the last apple product I had was the ipad 3rd generation and to be honest they can run smoothly and do what they do pretty good, but you sacrifice a lot of freedom with Apple, and even though android is becoming more restricted just this weekend I experienced things my phone can do that my sisters iPhone 6plus can't, and I have always associated IPhone with my previous experience.

You're right the thunderbolt was horrible, I found myself smacking the phone's a few times lol especially when it would randomly reboot all the time in the middle of a text message.

The Note 4 is an awesome phone or phablet whatever you wanna call it, and that's why I do feel like any the else might make me feel like it's a downgrade.
