Have you cracked your Nexus 4 yet?

Glass is a premium material and gives the N4 a high quality feel and look. I love it but just have to be carful with it as everyone else should be. The glass build is one of the major reason why I got my Nexus 4. I personally am tired of plastic devices. Being also an iPhone user I appreciate materials like, glass, aluminum and stainless steel.

BTW there's no way I'm gonna but my Nexus 4 in a case because it's just too beautiful.

Just wanted to share my experience.. Dropped my nexus with bumper from about 5ft onto a concrete floor.. The phone actually 'bumped' about 2 inches.. Apart from a little dent to the bumper.. No damage done :) so if you want to keep your nexus 4 safe without a case.. Definitely get the bumper !

I dropped mine at a concert and cracked the screen. Paid $199 to get fixed including parts and labor. Now i have a $550 phone...ouch. Zl or one here i come

I just dropped mine for the first time after work yesterday in my wood-floored apartment. lol

Waist height, straight down and hit like a brick. Fortunately, I happened to be standing on one of the only rugs we own and after my mild heart attack discovered it was unharmed.

I think I'm going to look into growing extra fingers to hold onto it better. Yeesh.

I've dropped my Nexus 4 twice on both sides from 3 feet above the ground onto hard floors with no case, bumper, or even screen protector. Not a scratch. You guys must be unlucky.

These stories are horrible sounding. Scares me. I have an Acase case right now, but I just bought a Ballistic case so I can further help prevent a break. This will be my third case. Each one has been better than the one before, but I've been buying them as they're released.

For those that broke their phones, did you have a case on at the time and which one was it?

Can you post a link to your quote from LG?

Back of my Nexus 4 just cracked Saturday. Similar story to some of those posted. It was not dropped. Was in my pocket by itself. Cracked around the speaker and spread. WTH? Seriously disappointed by that. Any quotes out there for shattered rear glass? I called a local repair shop and they said they could only get the parts for the screen side. Smh...

My Nex 4 back glass just broke. I had the phone in my front pocket while driving home from work (same place every phone I've ever owned always sits all the time, without ever an issue). Small arc crack on the right-top of the phone, comes down to around where the nexus logo is. As a mechanical engineer (and former product design engineer), I find this pretty lame! Will be contacting google tomorrow morning. Ugh.

Is it me or is the N4 breaking at a much higher rate compared to the Optimus G? went over to their forum, and not alot of people are complainig of broken back/front glass...
Or maybe the N4 has massively outsold the Optimus G lol

I think the problem is the amount of N4 in the market! The rate would be same...

Slipped off my half meter tall table onto concrete floors. My N4 is unusable and shattered. My iphone4 which is also made of glass took an uncountable number of drops at much higher heights. I was hoping that all of this glass cracking nonsense was all user error. I now realize that the N4 is just too fragile. They should do a recall... seriously the glass is far too fragile... this is coming from someone who LOVED THEIR NEXUS 4!

C'mon google... your flagship phone is this flimsy POS?!

Smh I hope you realize that only about 0.05% of people with N4s have cracked them. Yup, recall-worthy.

24 days with Nexus 4 and my phone is still like new... going naked! Can't decide which case to get... ? thought about going traditional case (diztronic) but then looked at those slim cases and bumpers ahhh so many of them!

My younger brother bought a Nexus 4 last week, $350 for a brand new, unlocked phone seemed like a great deal. He get's it, it sits in the box a few days until he could get it activated. Saturday afternoon he get's everything working, today(Sunday) he sit's it down on a coffee table that is no more 3 feet tall, the phone slips off and the screen totally shatters(concrete floor.) I've dropped my Infuse 4G from waist height onto concrete multiple times, I'd say it hit hard 10 times before even a small hairline crack appeared. With the Nexus 4, first drop, monster crack. A week after purchasing it too..

Of course I had ordered my own after seeing how cool the phone was and after seeing how easy it is to break, I immediately cancelled my order :O

Is there anyway to have it repaired or returned for another phone?
