Have you ever seen a Palm Pilot sync to a Chromebook by using PHEM or CompanionLink?

I use an old Palm Pilot for registration in my Defensive Driving class -- it has a sled with a license scanner, so I can read the barcode on licenses and capture all the info I need (name, address, ID number, etc). I'm still using a Windows 7 laptop just for this, and I'd like to get something just a bit more modern ;-). Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
