Have You Gotten Jelly Bean 4.3? Thread

When on earth will my sim free gs4 i9505 in the UK get the 4.3 update? Or will us s4 users never see it arrive to our devices?

Be patient, Google released 4.3 to Nexus family first. It might take some time before Samsung take it, modify, and release their own version of 4.3.
I'm using Nexus 4 and still not getting 4.3 update yet :)

Yeah I was guessing that Samsung will most likely take time to release it for the s4 devices. However I have tried checking to see if the software update feature will show up any new updates and I've just tried it twice and it says cannot connect or something like that.

Clear data of GS Framework and Force stop actually worked. Second try and I got the update.

Got it to work by the Google services Framework trick after clearing data and force closing. Worked after about the fourth time of doing this. Downloading now! Hopefully this fixes my iffy coverage on T-Mobile.

I like the new way 3rd-party Apps can now dismiss other 3rd-party App Notifications...for example swiping away a StatusBar Notification also dismisses its Floating Notification & vice-versa.
The 4.3-compatible Floating Notifications update is currently in BETA but for me it's really useful.

My only complaint is that now on-going Apps produce an on-going Notification, which can be disabled like before but is reenabled every time you reboot - super annoying!

Here is the approximate order devices will be updated in:

Nexus 4 > S4 Google edition > regular S4

So you will have to wait at least until the S4 GE has been updated which hasn't happened yet.

Worked for me. I updated to 4.2.2 and 4.3 that way. Never had any problems.

Got mine finally from doing the clear data force stop framework. Took 3 tries total.

It's now 10:43 p.m. on July 27... still no sign of the update for me yet. :(

EDIT: Heh. Just did the workaround again about 30 seconds ago and it's available! Woohoo! Evidently Google just realized I posted here and they got scared. ;)

Glad it worked!! Loving the light touch recognition improvement. Makes swype even smoother

Same here! Did that 4 times and 4.3 downloaded! :D Seems like their is no lag at all now and heard it will improve battery life on the Nexus 4, so hopefully it will, because the battery life isn't so great.
