Have You Gotten KitKat 4.4? Thread

Oh yeah baby, N4 definitely feels snappier and faster. I could be imagining it, but I don't think so. My Nexus 7 (2012) didn't feel snappier but my N4 does. Other than some of the icons are a bit different, and it seems a bit quicker, I can't tell one single difference.

I can't either. The phone app is nicer looking and functions better for navigating. I really wish we got the transparent bottom buttons, I don't understand why that wasn't included.

The transparency stuff is part of the Google Experience Launcher (or GEL as everyone is calling it), which is currently exclusive to the Nexus 5. However, the software calls for it exist in KitKat, thus third party launchers like Nova can implement it if they so choose (and Nova has, at least in the beta version).

I've had it for a couple days. As far as a couple cosmetics: I like the new logo on the boot screen and the white symbols in the notification bar. The dialer is much different... looks very good. The phone is much snappier now... much quicker. My verdict on battery life is that it's slightly improved. I am very pleased with the Kit Kat update.

Just completed my download (in central Alabama). Installation went fine! On to some KitKat yumminess.

I got the update today and op love the avatar. Commander Keen is the turkey's stuffing!

Sent from my Nexus 4

Still a no go in Austin, TX. For those of you that have updated already, can you specify where you're from?
