Who has gone from the note 9 to an S22+ or 22ultra? Thoughts.. pluses and minuses compared to the note 9. Thanks

I've always stayed with the flagship as I didn't want anything lacking from camera /battery size but from s9 I think you'll be alright to s22+

Lol...not an s9...I have a note 9 and was wondering on those who have updated what their thoughts pluses and minuses have been.

Oh thats right , so then you would feel right at home with s22u its basically the Note phone with upgraded goodies

I went from the Note 10+ and it feels like a worthwhile upgrade for me. I think the biggest improvement is the camera. I do feel like I have a much better phone and that it was definitely an upgrade as opposed to a side-grade.

I think if you have a Note 9 you would like the S22 Ultra much better than the S22+ because the S22 Ultra really is a Note just with a new name. The inbuilt S Pen is awesome.

Wife went from the Note10 to the S22U and love it. She said it was a big improvement from the Note10.

Except no earphone jack and no memory card slot. Unfortunately I know this is pretty much true for any upgrade today. Probably why I'm still holding onto (using) my Note 9

I have been using BT headphones for so long. Won't miss the earphone jack. Don't think I have ever used it on the note 9

Personally, even though I'm a Note 10+ user, I'd still pick the Note 9 over any of the S22 series. It has too many good features. IMO, it was the best phone feature-wise that Samsung ever made, and there is a lot of people who would agree. They can still be had in really good condition or even brand new in some cases. I would take the 8GB version though I think for better performance. Only two thing's I'd really miss compared to a newer device, the wide angle camera and super fast charging through 25 watts.

I am crazy though, so what can I say lol

Oh I already have a note 9 I have had it since it first came out. Was wondering if anyone else who had a note 9 upgraded and what they thought.

Yes I know. I just felt like putting my 2 cents in. I used to have a Note 9 as well.

I admit,, I've not read all the preceding g posts, so with that...

I hadn't had a Note 9 for a few years. ...until today. I was looking for a cheap "beater" phone and my local iFixIT had a Note 9 that they'd replaced the battery, screen and back panel. They have me a good price this morning so I said, "What the heck?" and got it.

To focus on your question, yes the S22u is a significant upgrade but the Note 9 doesn't feel slow or sluggish (to me), even with only half the RAM as the 22u. The N9 doesn't feel as monstrous as the 22u either and is a little easier to use one-handed...but if uou're using a Note you may not be too concerned with one-handed use as the N9 is no small phone. The N9 has Android 10 and that's as far as its going go. If you're concerned with updates the S22U will have them coming for ...a long time. Cameras? No comparison, IMO, its not even worth discussing. ...but its not fair to hold the N9 against the 22u as the 22u is years newer and it if that shows anywhere, brightly, its the camera. No comparison...but that doesn't mean the N9's photos are embarrassing either.

The N9 does have that headphone jack. Nice...for me it'll make a great beater/workout phone. The fact that it still performs so well is a testament to just how good it is. If yours is in good shape then it won't hurt to keep it a bit longer...it'll make a good backup phone. ...but the 22U will be a nice upgrade indeed, if that's what you decide.

Yes, I have had the note 9 since it came out in August 2018. I would be trading it in if I got a good trade in price for it. But unfortunately, T-Mobile only gives a good grade in value if you add a line or upgrade to a pricey plan we don’t need. So for now I wait lol.

You may even wish to get the battery replaced (to help renew your phone) and use it for a while. If its still working well with you and you're not a slave to the latest new toy (unfortunately, very unfortunately, I am) you can still get some good use out of it.

I paid $250 for my Note 9 today and while I have seen better deals online, I didn't have to wait for it and got to see what I was getting. Its still a very nice phone...and that surprises me.

So far my battery has been fine. Just wanted a new phone while mine might still have value. It has been getting sparse security updates and that’s it. It has android 10.

At least your still getting security updates. Mine show an Android patch level of March '21.

You should buy the device from Samsung. They have much better deals and trade in values, without having to add an expensive plan. You can buy the T-Mobile version or the factory unlocked version from Samsung as well.

Right now, they are offering 350 for the Note 9 plus another 125 in the form of instant credit/rebate. And then, if you buy the T-Mobile version, you can get another 50 dollars off if you activate through them online. I believe if you get the base model, it would come out to around 670 before taxes.
