Having Issues with Huawei P20 Lite

Hi folks,

I moved over to Android for the first time a few months ago. I got a Huawei P20 Lite, and I'm having a tough time with a few things. Really hope someone can help because some of these are driving me mad, and tempting me back to the dark side!

1. Most important is the media player/ headphones. I quickly abandoned Huawei's music player as it only lets you play things on shuffle! Finally settled on Media Monkey which is great, but now my headphone remote doesn't seem to be compatible. Can anyone tell me how to find headphones with a remote which will allow me to skip tracks back and forth, adjust the volume, and take phone calls?

2. When editing a picture in View & Edit (adding labels to pictures) is there really only one choice of font, and no option to resize it except by dragging the text box?

3. Predictive text isn't learning my frequently used words.

4. Can't access Google Photos from Facebook/ Messenger - have to download them to Gallery every time.

5. Keep getting false/ persistent notifications, esp. on Google calendar. They'll only clear if I restart the phone. Another particularly bad one is whenever I upload a pic to Facebook. The notification dot just won't go away!

6. Hardly ever received Hotmail notifications though!

7. I want to set up individual notification sounds for various apps but I can't figure out how to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy to move each issue into its own thread if that's better for y'all.

Many thanks
Anna

I'm assuming you switched from an iPhone -- are the headphones you're using the same ones you had bought for the iPhone? Headphones that are specifically "Made for iPhone" (which appears on the packaging) are often not entirely compatible with Android devices, since the iPhone headphone jack's configuration is slightly different from that on Android. Try a headphone that is specifically compatible with Android.

Which keyboard app are you using?

Are you only referring to the notification dot on the app icon, or are you also talking about the notification in the status bar?

Which email app are you using? If it's the stock Email app, check the notification settings for that specific email account and make sure it's turned on.

Not every app lets you customize the notification tone. First, check the app's own notification settings in its menu. If you don't see anything there, then go to the Notifications menu in the system settings and see if you can modify the tone there.
