Having issues with my S-Pen

I've had the Note 10.1 for about 2 months now and I have loved using the S-Pen with it, with no trouble at all. I've been using it all day today and it was fine, but starting having trouble with it a couple of hours ago. The pen is very glitchy when I'm trying to do anything with it. For instance, if I'm in S-Note and I'm trying to take notes, the S-Pen will start drawing random lines without me even touching the pen to the screen (this happens when the pen is in the Air View "zone"). This makes taking notes very difficult, since when I'm writing a word, every time I lift the pen at the end of the letter to move to the next letter, it draws little dots and lines in between the letters.

I know that nothing has happened to the pen at all (I haven't dropped it or anything), so I'm wondering why it suddenly just started doing this. It's very frustrating to me, and I'm hoping someone could provide some info on this issue and hopefully offer a way that might fix it. Thanks in advance!

Edit: The part that makes me frustrated is that the issue comes and goes. It seems like the problem comes up at random times, which leads me to think it's software related, but I'm not sure what would have caused it. I haven't downloaded anything new or changed anything on the tablet today. Also, I have restarted it a couple of times since it started happening.
