Having problems installing Xionia Clockwork

I have my phone rooted with gingerbreak and that has been working fine, I have installed a couple applications that require a rooted phone so it has to be right. I'm working on installing xionia clockwork recovery now. I have the files extracted and moved to my sd card but I'm having a problem with probably the easiest part. In the command prompt I cant seem to get to the adb shell prompt and into the root. More or less, the step RIGHT before entering the lines of code. I've typed location after location and nothing is working. Please help =]

Type "su" without the quotes. It should give you the # prompt(superUser might ask you to allow terminal, su rights). You can then proceed with the directions for installing a recovery. It is a little tricky if you know nothing about linux and you must type it exactly how the directions show you(make sure you pay close attention to the spaces as it is difficult to tell if there is a space or not.

What error does it say? Make sure your in your SDK directory, and also I had a problem when typing SU getting into that mode, some reason installing the Super User from the market worked but not the one in the zip file....not sure why I am not too smart

Errors like "Path not found". Which I cant figure out because the file is where its supposed to be and I'm typing the path like exactly as it is and still nothing
