Having problems with android beam

Ok so i've been encountering this problem since the beginning of the month. When someone would send me a pic/vid etc. via android beam, my phone automatically opens up the play store for some reason. After, it says something like 'item not found'. Anyone know how to resolve this problem?

this is how android beam works: apps has to install the android beam feature in to the app. for example what need to be transmitted when beamed.
if none is implemented then the beam will open up the app on the other devices. if the app is not installed then the device will open up the play store of that app to be installed.

What phone are you trying to beam to? If it's an S3, you need to turn off S-beam on their phone. S3's use S-beam by default when it's turned on, which isn't compatible with the standard android beam.
If it's not an S3, are you using the stock gallery app to beam?

oOoo.. ok, maybe that's why. My friends have S3's. Works fine when i send them stuff but when they try to send me stuff, it wont work. I'll try it with their S-beam turned off. Thx for the info
