Having problems with G3 and Kenwood head unit

I have a Kenwood head unit DNX571HD that was working fine with my Verizon G3. After the recent OS update now when I make or receive a call, it connects and disconnects repeatedly, causing major issues trying to use the phone while driving. Also my kenwood smartphone control app is sketchy at best, most of the time it doesn't work at all now. Very frustrated, can anyone here help?
